Watched this last night and loved it. It tells the story of pianist Norman Malone, who at age ten was attacked by his father, leaving him paralyzed on his right side. He never gave up his passion for music, and pursued a mastery of the piano using only his left hand.

I had no idea about this with regards to The Nutcracker. This story has me in tears. Tchaikovsky's "Pas de Deux" is one of the most beautiful works of music in all of history. Now knowing what inspired it makes it even more beautiful. www.youtube.com/watch?v=utOG...

Big thanks to @loscil.ca for the inclusion on his Boomkat chart. His “Lake Fire” album is one of my favorite albums and live shows of the year. It was so much fun and an honor to tour with him this year in Canada and Europe. Can’t wait to see and hear what he does next! boomkat.com/charts/boomk...

Senate News: Republicans are trying to sneak a provision into their latest government funding bill that would make it easier to sell off public lands and national parks, and may have the votes to do it. If you care about protecting your public lands, now’s the time to make it known.

I happened to be up early this morning and while I was drinking coffee I heard something push forcefully at my front door. My two cats immediately ran to it wondering what it was. It happened to be a stray cat that I and a neighbor have been taking care of. He was knocking for food!

In 2023 ago I made a version of Franz Schubert's "Ave Maria / Ellens dritter Gesang" for the holiday season. If you are looking for interesting holiday music this might be your cup of tea. I will donate any funds acquired from this track to Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières.

I loved this documentary. It would mean a lot to me if you would watch it and listen to the music of Mel Bonis, Lili Boulanger, Fanny Hensel, and Emilie Mayer. They were incredible composers, but sadly many people are unaware of them. I really hope that their works start appearing in more concerts.
