A meaning crescent Moon, it's curve pointed toward the lower left. The lit face of the moon has a ruddy gold color. Craters are visible over much of the surface, but especially the terminator. Dark 'seas' called Mare are more prevalent in the upper part of the crescent. The background is black.

A frozen surprise for #WaterfallWednesday!
This is Deep Creek Falls, and it's probably the only waterfall for a long way. This is along a stretch of old highway 140 in SE Oregon.

A photo of a frozen waterfall which takes up most of the center, and side to side, of this image. This is not a tall waterfall, but it's fairly broad. The icy path of the small river makes it's way down a gentle slope that runs to the right, and the ice spills over a set of natural stone steps on that slope, then tumbles over the rocks face along the length of the slope as well. The ice takes many forms, from lumpy cauliflower shapes, to draped icicles, and smooth looking rounded bumps at the base. In the background, the upstream direction is also frozen, and strongly reflects sunlight in brilliant white. The frozen falls is mainly shaded from the sun, and has a dull faint blue color. Among the icy falls there are a few places that the dark stone is visible, and this is where unfrozen water is still running over the rocks. The falls is framed by two outcrops of tall reddish brown columns of old basalt lava flow. Below the frozen falls, the stream disappears under ice once more, which is bathed in sunlight.

From NASA: This is the clearest image yet of the Egg Nebula, showing a light show around a rapidly dying star. It offers a rare opportunity to test theories of late-stage stellar evolution: go.nasa.gov/4bGzbfP
In the image center, an opaque oval cloud of gray gas aligned from 1 oclock to 7 oclock hides a star. Two strong beams of light from the star emerge from large holes in both sides of the cloud, forming narrow cones extending toward 10 o'clock and 4 o'clock. The central cloud is surrounded by concentric, wispy shells of gas illuminated by the star's light. The shells reflect extra light where they're hit by the twin beams. A crowd of smaller stars with cross-shaped spikes over them surrounds the nebula on a black background.

ICE pulled over US citizen, left her with concussion, torn rotator cuff, bruised ribs after they dumped out her purse & saw her passport.

She was out on her way to pay rent and pick up a birthday cake for her grandson.

911 said call feds.

Here's a couple, the first two are much, much younger than the second one.
The two on an old power pole usually keep me company at my dark sky site while I'm at the telescope. Even their young come visit!

A monochrome photo. Two Great Horned Owls silhouetted against a predawn sky. The top cross timber on the power pole is almost along the line of sight, tilted slightly down to the right. A glass insulator sits at the end of each where the wires that run across the frame are anchored. A short metal strut can be seen anchoring the cross timber from it's mid point to the left, and diagonally down to the main pole. One owl sits atop the main pole, sitting higher up than the cross timber. It appears to be looking straight down at the ground, to the right. The other owl is on the far end of the cross timber next to the insulator and wore at the end. It is staring off directly to the right. The background is out of focus and has dark, and slightly lighter contours suggesting hillsides. The sky appears light, but featureless before dawn. A color photo looking downward onto heavily weathered rock with fissures in it with light borders and deep darker cracks like a river map. Most of the rock face is a dull reddish grey to darker, dull charcoal color. In the center of the image, and obvious on the rock face is the simple figure with a large circular outline of a head with two large roughly roundish eyes. Below the large circular head is a small round body with two elongated wavey arms or wings to either side that make the same shapes in reflection of the other. Below the small body is the suggestion of two stubby feet. It looks like a very simple rendition of a barn owl flying toward you. But it is pecked into the rock face by probably another piece of rock. This is a very old petroglyph made by native American ancestors, and is several thousand years old. At the bottom right corner is some old dried grass, and the rock face behind it has a distinct reddish color, probably from snow interacting with minerals in the rock. The owl figure looks almost white, from where the person who made it scarred the rock face with their stone. There are many other figures in this area.
