I refuse to accept that it's been TEN YEARS since I sat in that room ๐Ÿ˜ญ
Nine years (!) ago today, I was in an extremely crowded lecture theatre with my friends from Astrosoc and Physoc at Glasgow uni (where I was still an undergrad), excitedly waiting for the GW150914 announcement.
Amazing times:')

A delicious representation of a binary black hole merger!
Iโ€™ve detected a honey-butter signal with significance of 6 sigma that fits the expected signature of a binary blueberry merger. Nobel Baking Prize, here I come.

10 years ago today, our discovery paper was published in Physical Review Letters

doi.org/10.1103/Phys...

It has gone on to be highly cited. But it has also had an impact outside of academiaโ€”its @altmetric.com is in the top 1000
