Looking for a new #audiobook this summer? My latest novel, Between the Salt Water and the Sea Strand, is now available on #Audible! www.amazon.com/dp/B0FB9N822G

Masterfully narrated by the amazing @davidault.bsky.social, it's a fun fantasy romp for the whole family!
Random #characterdesign; I wanted to make a character who looked like something out of an 80's Saturday morning cartoon about space cats that never actually happened. Also Walkmen are the pinnacle of technology.

Here's a #Neopets short story that I never submitted to the Neopian Times, about events directly preceding the first Meridell-Darigan war. Mostly I was just trying to make sense of that weird time warp business.
A Hiccough in Time
First, let me preface by saying that I love the Commonwealth spelling of "hiccup". That is all. I recognize that I have been putting way m...

Once I thought it would be fun to create an #animatic trailer for one of my novels!

It was a lot of work and I wasn't using the most sophisticated video editing software, but I don't think it turned out half bad. #fantasybooks

Hope everybody has a safe and happy #Halloween! I thought I'd share a fairly ridiculous short story I wrote for #Neopets a while back, about a no-nonsense bounty hunter trying to get her job done on the weirdest night of the year. Enjoy!

Here's a Plateosaurus doodle because basal sauropodomorphs need more love! After all, if not for them, we'd never have those titans of the Jurassic who seriously pushed the terrestrial vertebrate biomechanics envelope. #paleoart #dinosaurs

If you're looking for your next autumn read, why not check out my #steampunk fantasy novel Thunder Girl? It's an exciting ride through an alternate-history Victorian America teeming with reanimated fossils, crystal-brained robots, and a few supernatural surprises.

With spooky season upon us, here's a #shortstory I wrote about ghosts and graveyards and happy endings. I don't know how to #Halloween properly I guess.

Illustration for my #Neopets fanfic Worth Fighting For. Dr. Sloth was a fun villain to write; I enjoyed fleshing out his personality and going into what happens when you get on his bad side.

Happy #NationalFossilDay! Nothing like an entire day dedicated to the awesome fact that our planet's geology allows us to learn about the ecosystems that came before us.

If you're looking for some paleo fun this weekend, come to the Idaho Museum of Natural History's Fall Fossil Fest on the 18th!

Concept art for King Radnama from my novel The Voyage of the Kaus Media. I had fun making the Noblirim a way rad species of saurian dragon people. #fantasyart #dragons

I'm glad so many people liked that previous illustration! Here's another piece of concept art for The Shadow of Takeryuu. Min is a bold, if slightly naïve farmgirl with a strong sense of justice who borrowed her ancestor's enchanted armor and pudao on a quest to save her village. #Neopets

Concept art for my Neopian Times series The Shadow of Takeryuu, about a group of adventurers in ancient Shenkuu who journey to confront a corrupt emperor. This is Eunji, a soft-spoken yet strong-willed geomancer monk with a knack for bringing people together. #Neopets

My Zafara Blynn as the Scrivener, a mysterious and dashing rogue who leaves book reviews pinned to walls with daggers, because she does odd things when she's bored. She wrote a couple of literary review articles for the Neopian Times back in the day. #Neopets

One last character design sketch for the novel I've been brainstorming for. Goblin warriors are even more effective when a population of robots gives them high-tech gear. #scifiart #sciencefantasy

A while back, I decided to do a bit of #paleoart for underrepresented species on Wikipedia, and I thought this one turned out pretty nicely. Xiushanosteus is a lovely little placoderm described in 2022 that's notable for being one of the first known jawed vertebrates.
October 3, 2025 at 3:04 PM
I had so much fun with that character design yesterday that I decided to sketch out another design for the novel I'm planning. Powered armor with antigravity generators comes in handy when navigating an artificial labyrinth beneath the planet's surface. #scifiart
