The world is still on fire, but I pulled the grass out of my flowerbeds, even though it was 1132 degrees outside. And a friend tried to make me gluten free pumpkin bread. Those are the things I hold on to.

I have native violets growing in my front yard. My neighbors get theirs sprayed by Chem Lawn (Maybe it's called Green Lawn now? Either way.) It's a tiny victory, but still a victory

Happy Friday from the Arkansas hellscape! In this week's news, an actress I like died "non suspiciously." Our elected representatives have passed a budget resolution that can only be achieved by cutting healthcare for the poor. And an unvaccinated child died from measles in Texas.

This sums up February for me. Between national government actions and Arkansas government actions, I don't know which ends is up.

Tuesday's grey and Wednesday, too

Thursday I don't care about you

It's Friday, I'm on drugs.

For most of us, the economy has not improved for years. Not a Democrat/Republican thing, but a rich folks/rest of us thing. Employment numbers are flawed as they count underemployed and part time workers as employed, even if they are searching for full time work. www.politico.com/news/magazin...
Voters Were Right About the Economy. The Data Was Wrong.
Here’s why unemployment is higher, wages are lower and growth less robust than government statistics suggest.

I bought a Costco membership today in my red state. The membership line was long. When the employee asked why I was joining, I said DEI. He smiled and said he usually has 10 new memberships a week, but the last couple weeks, it's been that per day.

Remember when Trump said he wasn't going to gut Social Security? He lied.
That didn’t take long.

Remember all the faux outrage at the State of the Union when Biden called out Republican plans to cut Social Security? Well, here we are.
Column: GOP and Musk unveil a threat to Social Security
Rep. Mike Lee and Elon Musk put their heads together to craft an attack on Social Security utterly devoid of truth.

Absolutely loved this piece from @charliejane.bsky.social about the magic of the Arrowverse (not Darhk/Constantine magic). And shout out to Legends of Tomorrow, one of the best shows in the past 10 years.

This is the longer version of the thing I was trying to say, which still is by no means everything I have to say in any direction. Do not try to infer or assume based on what I haven't said. You can ask me questions if you'd like to know. I will answer if I have the energy and am in the mood.
a lot of things are true.
