Right. Here's my big pitch:
Muppet James Bond
James Bond in…A Heart-Felt Goodbye
Dominic Cooper as Bond
Kermit M Frog
Mrs Moneypiggy
Beaker & Dr Bunsen HoneyQ
The agents of G.O.N.Z.O. want to kidnap the world's chickens. MI5 has a mole (Rizzo the Rat). An agent is undercover as a chef in Sweden.

Altman hasn’t had as much time to build a cult of personality like Elon, and Elon was able to take Tesla public in a different era. Altman is committing to massive investments without a real strategy for the revenues to back it up.
"It’s a tad early for 2026 predictions, but given how the past few weeks have gone for OpenAI, I’ll offer one of my own: OpenAI isn’t going public. Not in 2026, anyway. Maybe not ever," writes CNN's Allison Morrow.

The very fact that he’s back in office shows that the median American adult is nowhere ready for this level of responsibility—but it could inspire a new game show/reality show hybrid: Are You Smarter than an Insurance Company’s Entire Legal Team?

What’s crazy is that this is functionally what’s happening with the ACA tax credits. You’ve basically got a certain amount of subsidy from the credit and you pick a policy off the exchange; the credit reduces the premium.
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

A giant corrupt payout of our tax dollars to Republican Senators, and the Democrats signed off on it. DC is a cesspool.
Buried inside the deal to reopen government is a provision that would give Senators private right of action to sue for millions in damages over their phone records being analyzed by Jack Smith's team.

Durbin vs. the wallet inspector
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

I think anyone trying to make Chait’s argument here needs to address the fact that federal employees haven’t been paid since the end of September and SNAP beneficiaries weren’t getting money they need in order to eat.
"Democrats could have held the line on the shutdown, and spent weeks watching Trump’s approval ratings fall," writes @jonathanbchait.bsky.social

My view on tonight: I don’t like it, but I also don’t see it as the end of the world. It basically pauses things until the end of January, and sets up this fight again but with SNAP and VA off the table b/c they’re funded through September. 🧵 1/x
