My email says: not only will this cause rent increases, evictions, and homelessness; It will also further exacerbate the climate and housing crises by forcing folks like me to seek stability in monthly housing costs by buying instead of renting, abandoning the sustainable choice (apartment). #onpoli

In a statement, CBC told me:

"After reviewing the interview, we concluded that it needed to be re-edited and re-posted to include further context and questions around the procedure and treatment Deacon experienced. That has now been done."

Will update the story with this soon.
Earlier this week, the CBC broadcast an interview with Gill Deacon, discussing her Long COVID recovery using brain retraining.

They didn't tell you the specific brain retraining program, the Lightning Process, has been accused of exploiting patients.

Stop listening to the loudest and most out-of-touch pundits screaming about moving to the centre. Be bold and unrelenting in caring about each other.

“I can’t miss work” and “I’ve had covid enough and don’t want to do that again” are tbh my two most honest answers for why I continue to wear a mask in most public indoor places
Tom Hanks explains to Stephen Colbert why he masks on the subway:

"I'm doing a play right now so I cannot get sick... I've had COVID enough in my life, I don't need to do that again. So I'm wearing this for health reasons."

Thank you Tom! Masks are still a key part of public health.

Clean indoor air should be a basic right guaranteed by legislation. Poor ventilation is common, invisible, and public awareness of the health impact is low.

Excellent and infuriating thread. Forcing people back to work when they can work remotely is a huge problem and a lot of people are losing jobs because of it when they should not have to.

Kids deserve to live lives without COVID infections; if only everyone was on board with that.

It is important to understand that the reckoning on Covid is not about feels, it’s not about fears, and it’s not about fuzzy ideas of social justice.

It is real people being forced out of their jobs because their workplaces refuse to acknowledge the scientifically proved risks of Covid.
30

if it won’t do what’s right to keep its own people safe at work, how can you trust it to tell you how to protect yourself at yours, and to demand better of your government?

i loved my job. and i still i believe in the public broadcaster.

but you can’t compromise with COVID.

or the truth.
