Nah, let me hold a 20 till it happens
I can’t quite put it into words, but Trump praising Mamdani on the same day that MTG resigns in opposition to “big Tech, big Pharma, the war complex and big donors” feels like a harbinger of realignment.

There is a political earthquake trembling beneath the surface waiting to break through.

It is testament to this era that we have people going psychotic from AI flattery, and a president who loves to be flattered and isnt psychotic, just that shitty.

It feels cliche, but teaching people how to teach themselves is the fundamental of education. And this is more about method than subject because the methods should uncork the ability to feed any curiosity without it going haywire into esoterica.

Sending Carl a revolutionary theory of epistemology that relies on flattery as authoritative token and when he takes an earnest peek at the details it's just a link that opens his own inbox back on itself.
I am by no means a prominent public intellectual, but my inbox is increasingly filled with messages from people who have been convinced by sycophantic chatbots that they have discovered revolutionary theories that entirely upend our scientific understanding of the universe.

ngl, very funny both these people constantly make fun of Dems for trying to win over moderates and they basically just make the exact same analysis but even worse lol

I'm not gonna read a whole thing at work, but I will venture that a predominant problem with any kind of 'working class' play is that it's volkist horseshit that rides around on a completely aesthetic stallion because the 'salt of the earth' literally can not and won't access electoral politics play
The disconnect between Platner’s actual class background (upper-middle class) and the way he’s often spoken of (tribune of the working class) has long bugged me. John deftly unpacks that discrepancy here.

"We should use relative comparisons of suffering to feel better about our own" is one of those stultifying things where I can't stop imagining someone being pleased with themselves when they see someone else suffer because it isn't them, and they think this levity is part of decency.

If you can construct a rhetorical frame where you feign befuddlement over a basic basic thing, you know exactly why catharsis does better than earnest losing.

I wish there was a way to emphasize that the problem is intractable so long as the party itself can not formulate alternative means to politicking that is usually consigned to outsider political ideologies, and also spike political ideologies with loftier goals than 'fair media umpire'

As much as ground level people will tongue bath veterans for social appearances to veer away from haterism, shit like this does worse for a sound party soul and signals every intent to never stop feeding The State the structures and tools of unilateral suppression

Trying to get any ongoing info about Charlie Kirk's shooter makes it seem like an op that clearly failed in some capacity, which makes it...i dont want to say funny...but maybe kinda meta humorous. Even if it wasnt an op, its like, man do people not actually care about Charlie Kirk as a person, lol

I just dont like how everyone in America falls over themselves to notionally defend it as a Democracy and a good one at that, when its mostly a kind of Democracy to seat a Republic that has every fucking fault of a Republic, that launders itself entirely through the Democratic phase and thats that.

"But if we don't make talented people into petite aristocracy, we simply will not have the best people running The State" and it's like, a petite aristocracy is disconnected from their charge the moment they don't associate with the public and only their petite aristocracy peers.

It's actually super grating that the most they can imagine is sending a stern electoral message in the pursuit of some kind of restoration to the halcyon days of 2015.
Today is a pretty good reminder of why No Kings and such is so off-putting to me:

it's because liberals have learned so little, and so many of them think this is simply a path "back to normal." and any attempt at showing them the deep rot of their political beliefs ends in "fuck you commie"

Bigger Question: What is the existential point of teaching young people up if you know and they know its not for anything but work and making money for other people?
Meanwhile: "The UC San Diego report notes that more than a quarter of the students who placed into the elementary- and middle-school-level remedial course last year had earned straight A’s in their high-school math classes. Almost all of them had taken advanced math courses in high school." 🎢 ♾️ 🍎

I would be more worried about what you will do in the advent of Democrats being murdered, rather than Ross and Racheling the advent of it.

Post about it? Make a hullabaloo about how bad it is? Again? With more ire and emphasis?

Subtly, you know that this entire thought doesnt penetrate a single mind that honors military service without qualification. Because when you start pulling on this thread, you pull on rape in every direction of the service at a low level, and the larger purpose of the service at high level
To everyone saying that people in our military already know not to follow unlawful orders, how do you explain almost 100 civilians murdered on fishing boats in the Caribbean so far?
