Pinning my favourite try of all time to my profile so I know there's always something nice to look at on BlueSky.
90s nostalgia isn't really a thing. Nobody thinks the NES was better than a PlayStation 5, nobody can articulate what the fashion was, TV was 4 channels, and porn was harder to find.

Pretty much everything that's brought up as a pro 'when I was a kid' generalia and not specific to the decade.
It's a genre doing the rounds on social. Analogue images of carefree kids living smartphone-free lives, set to the sounds of Blur, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana…Welcome to #90snostalgia. But were the 1990s really better than now?

An #FTEdit 🧵on the case for 2025 👇

Thinking more about this and I reckon it comes down to my favourite subject - 10s. Russell is a chaos monkey, there to fuck about.

Ireland 10s are system first. They're actively trained to paint in the lines.

Which invites an arm wrestle with a good England pack who see the system coming.
Was gonna make a joke here about how Extremely Online Irish fans are of course right to hate Farrell for being incredibly successful but...

It's genuinely interesting how sticky England are for them, particularly when you look at lesser, one-note Scotland who've had them figured out for years.
☘️Ireland's win% against Nations Championship teams 2016 - 2025:

86% v Australia (7)
83% v Japan (6)
69% v Wales (13)
63% v South Africa (8)
54% v England (13)
50% v France (10)

I kind of genuinely think this. Maybe the President should be a cheerleader whose only job is making people feel good. Let Congress run the country (I know) and the Executive be the guy that dunks on foreign sports teams and waves at parades and opens schools. Reads a bit of poetry at Christmas.
the presidents only function should be to fix the mcdonalds menu items and nothing else
Trump: "No matter who you are, everybody loves something at McDonald's. I like the fish. Khhhhh. I like it. You could do a little bit more tartar sauce though please. Seriously."

I've done it. I've found the worst take in the world about Scottish rugby.

All over the place today. Wasn't sure why. Then considered I've had half the caffeine I usually do.

Probably not a great sign.

I'm honestly not fussed that a twat said "coloured people" instead of "people of colour", but I am annoyed at how clever he thinks he is with this lampshading.

"“I can’t think of anybody less racist than me, but of course I would say that, wouldn’t I?"
Angus MacDonald, who represents Inverness, has now said in a statement he will undertake diversity and inclusion training, after using the phrase on camera while discussing plans to house 300 male asylum seekers in a local barracks from next month.

The high water mark of Prime Ministers over the last sixteen years was Gordon Brown secretly calling someone a bigot. Because they were a bigot.

And we threw him out of office for it so now we have Kier Starmer robbing asylum seekers at gunpoint.

Well done, lads. Go us.

I don't use the word 'evil' lightly and tend to ignore anyone who does, but that's what this is.

I hate this wall from Star Trek Starfleet Academy so much. Trek has always used lists of names to honour production crew. This honours "REMEMBER THAT CHARACTER?" and they couldn't even do that with a lick of sense.

Lt Tasha Yar. A nobody security officer who died 800 yrs ago. But REMEMBER HER?!

Very tired of people ruminating on ‘the evidence’ while conveniently neglecting the glaring evidence that Labour is dominated by ideological right-wingers whose sole political project has been rat-fucking the left and slamming the steering wheel hard-right because those are the politics they want.

Just going to share a random 8 month old post of mine for no reason.
You know the worst part of this? There's been JUST enough spark from this useless Scotland team that Townsend will be able to give his standard, "proud of the effort. Thought we did well under pressure. We had some good breaks," interview and stay in post and nothing will change.

For saying I'm quite fond of my ability to turn a phrase and I've never particularly cared about cutting out rude words for the meek, I'm struggling to think of any way to describe this that won't read as me having a total psychotic breakdown.

It is, and I'm not exaggerating, a cunt.

ChatGPT has always had the problem where it asserts something, is contradicted, and then tries to gaslight you into thinking there was no correction.

It's now even better at it, and aggressively condescending with it too.

Hell of an update.
