Brutality.
It’s sort of infuriating to watch liberals all of the sudden be able to identify war crimes because Trump is doing them

Enemy combatants in which combat?
If the Venezuelan sailors were enemy combatants, then the 2nd strike is a war crime.

If the Venezuelan sailors weren’t enemy combatants, then both strikes are criminal murder.

It’s that simple.

What is sad is how few politicians do this, even performatively.

It must be kinda our fault if being horrible is giving politicians street cred, rather than working at a meal bank.
I wish it didn’t feel so unusual and inspiring to see a leader treating everyone like they matter and saying that we have a responsibility to help each other
Combatting poverty and hunger in this city will take every single one of us. Myself included.

What counts as a tough choice for a billionaire?
@zackpolanski.bsky.social : ""We have a housing crisis, a climate crisis and an inequality crisis, and what we all want to see from this budget is not tough choices for working class communities, for migrants, for disabled people, but tough choices for multi millionaires & billionaires"

Tying one's fortunes to Trump continues to confound me.
Europe's gutting of its privacy rules would be yet another self-defeating capitulation to Trump. Instead, Europe should be ensuring that it can break free of American Big Tech. youtu.be/T4rC8x7WBf0

One of the major weaknesses of capitalism is that voluntary relinquishment of power for a greater or future or collective good is anathema. I postulate.
Negotiations at COP30 have gone into overtime because a handful of major oil producing countries are refusing to allow text about a fossil fuel phaseout despite the overwhelming evidence it must happen or addressing climate change will be futile.

It makes me very uncomfortable to find myself sympathizing so much more with the "MSM lies" narrative.

When reality conforms to the worldview of the conspiracy theorist. 😮‍💨
Between X and almost all of the legacy media, it sure seems like the bet that you can simply buy up a media source and replace it with an openly white supremacist and pro-fascist version of the source and very few people will blink or change their media consumption habits was a good one.
