Ok, who asked the "is there any tech the left is excited about" question that seems to have triggered everyone?

I'm very close to cancelling all my subscriptions and instead buying a DVD writer and re-installing NERO

It still isn't art though. "Make me a tear-jerking coming of age film" will mean nothing. They haven't made it. They haven't poured soul into it. People haven't breathed light and life into characters. It's still just slop.

An AI could be prompted to make "my girl". It wouldn't be My Girl, though.
We’re going to see some incredible content from independent filmmakers in the coming months. Seedance is the game changer that Google’s Veo and Sora hoped to be.

So you're saying that someone in the gig economy earns $11.25 every time someone leaves a Waymo door open..? Sounds like a great idea.
Robotaxis need 1.5 human operators for each car because they need humans to do all the other stuff that drivers normally do, like close the car doors

"You have a good job, a family, and retirement money, but you wanna try heroin? Doit king! Your body, your choice! And what if you drove to your dealer in a new Mazda..?"

LMAO. All this list says is that tech ppl have no idea what some jobs do.

AI is gonna replace historians? The ones who provide context and nuance? And journalists? The AI is gonna go out and interview people? Call for comment? Get vox-pops? Shut up.
Microsoft released a study showing the 40 jobs most at risk by AI:

After Bad Bunny + Green Day, I would like to propose Chappell Roan + Rage Against the Machine for Superbowl LXI.

Timely reminder that displays of these sorts are actually military flexes by nations.

They want you to know that they can do this, in this controlled a manner, and that each and every single one can kill you.
Thousands of glowing drones rehearsed for the 2026 Spring Festival Gala over Hefei, China.

The Gala reportedly set a Guinness World Record for the number of drones controlled by a single computer.

There are a lot of people who are going to complain about being unfairly vilified by that halftime show and it's because they know in their hearts they're on Team Hate.

Despacito
Waka Waka
Gangnam Style

English speakers must stop lying about not wanting to dance to songs they can't understand.
“I’m mad I can’t understand Bad Bunny’s lyrics because they’re not in English”

my brother millions of metalheads around the world have been happily listening to incomprehensible Finnish shrieks and Japanese death grunts since we were teens, you’re just boring and racist

These things are getting quite capable..

It's very cute that yanks pretend there is a "global audience" for the Superbowl.

The biggest global game today is Liverpool v City, on now. And that's gonna be a billion viewers.
The Super Bowl halftime show, with Bad Bunny showcasing Latin music before a global television audience expected to top 100 million, will illustrate the nation’s immigration divide whether or not the reggaeton star delivers an explicit political message.
The enthusiasm — and scorn — surrounding Bad Bunny’s star turn at the Super Bowl
The halftime show will illustrate the nation’s immigration divide whether or not the reggaeton star makes an explicit message about Trump’s deportation drive.

Why does no-one release live albums anymore?

Back in the day every band/artist had at least one "Live at ..." album in the discography.

Sounds like a good bunny to me.
Bad Bunny got emotional when asked who first believed in him, crediting his mother’s support before his career took off.

"I have to say my mom. She believed in me ... She believed that I could be a good person, you know?"
