I know one thing in particular that would make either of those years fanfuckingtastic. Or what’s left of this year, even.

Imagine giving a good goddamn about what Maggie Haberman thinks
Infuriating to watch elite journalists embrace MAGA narratives.

It isn’t about crime. It was never about crime. We know this because they said so. Taking over blue cities was the plan from the start. So stop pretending that they’re sincere.

Maggie Haberman Says Pushing Back in Trump Risky for Dems: ‘There Is a Crime Problem Everywhere’
Maggie Haberman said Democrats risk seeming out of touch when they push back on President Donald Trump over his policing takeover.

Throwing honey buns at them until they die of boredom
Every city choose your anti-fascist culinary projectile challenge.
And they want to try this in Chicago?

Taking a sub to the chest is nothing compared to catching a 60-pound deep dish pizza.

There's going to be a lot of feds with giant circles punched clean through their stomachs, standing there all confused like Wile E. Coyote.

Let Tim Tebow shift gears in a ‘97 5-speed S10 while flipping through a cd case, eating a burger, and steering with his knee. Then I’ll be impressed.
Wow, holding a baby while looking at his computer. How does he do it all?

Who the fuck is “we?”

On my planet, there were three kinds of people:

people who knew what the word “fascist” meant and applied it unreservedly to Trump from day one

people who didn’t know what it meant because—hoo boy, I don’t know.

and people who wanted to argue over whether water was wet.
Fascism is now in the algorithms, the neural pathways, the social interactions. How did we fail to see all this? “We wanted to see Trump in terms of his absences, so that our way of seeing the world would go unchallenged,” Timothy Snyder writes.
What Does It Mean That Donald Trump Is a Fascist?
Trump takes the tools of dictators and adapts them for the Internet. We should expect him to try to cling to power until death, and create a cult of January 6th martyrs.

Two thoughts:
-It is darkly funny to watch a senator essentially vote to abolish the formal power of Congress and then humbly petition the new emperor for amnesty.
-I expect we’ll see more of this as people suddenly realize how dependent red states are on federal largesse.
