DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

The biggest problem in American society is that there are literally zero financial, political, electoral or social status consequences for committing crimes or being wrong & participating in harming people - as long as you retain a lanyard with a fancy media, government or corporate credential.

I had a run in with ICE snatching a man out of his car while walking my children to school this morning in NW DC

I asked a neighbor to continue walking my kids to school and I turned back to document and confront the ICE agents.

I am in contact with @dcmigrantmutualaid.org with the full video.

I've spent my life advocating for a politics challenging oligarchy. It's been an unpleasant and difficult line of work, to say the least. So when I see the longtime opponents of this kind of politics suddenly appropriating it as their new "centrism," I'm happy.

Zohran Mamdani’s victory could be a turning point for Democrats — if the party finally learns from its past leaders’ betrayals.

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

SNAP exists because politicians take campaign contributions from large corporations in exchange for letting those corporations pay a poverty wage so low that it must be subsidized with taxpayer money, paid by middle class workers barely getting by—all so 700 billionaires can have a few extra billion

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

What keeps New Yorkers up at night are not the right-wing fever dreams of Andrew Cuomo.

It's whether or not they can keep living in the city they love.

I'm the only candidate on stage tonight with a vision for the future and a plan to bring down costs.

Yeah, my overall list is 2000 election, 9/11, Iraq War, financial crisis, and the decision to turn hope and change into more of the same by bailing out banks/shielding execs from prosecution while they threw millions of people out of their homes

IMO promising people hope & change & then bailing out bank donors as they foreclosed on 10 million families was the defining political moment that birthed this era & IMO liberals/Dems still refusing to reckon with this & discard the politics that led to it is part of why this descent persists.

The two political parties are not the same, but if there's one ideology that unifies the leaders & elites of both parties, it is the ideology that says Americans being fleeced by corporations & oligarchs should be mad at everyone other than the corporations and oligarchs that are doing the fleecing.

I made an unobjectionable comment that most people agree with.

Yes, the far right is worse than neoliberal corporatism. But neoliberal corporatism created the political backlash conditions for authoritarian nihilism - and yet somehow at this late hour, pundits like you still do not understand that.
The flattening of political conflict into "people I like" vs "everybody else" elides that the far-right option ("authoritarian nihilism") is actually materially worse for a lot of people than neoliberalism
