every single thing happening makes total sense if you think about the goal of making a society where you have certain people of a certain gender and a certain color be fully employed and in charge.
I remember seeing them at the Mercury Cafe years ago and hearing them perform their poem about Squash. A true legend and a massive loss.

So so so sad that they are no longer with us.
Alright brief Andrea Gibson appreciation thread ...
It's gonna hurt, this one. Much as it's been ... really something we've all seen coming I suppose. Inasmuch as anyone's mortality is really a visible part of them

Latest #pottery firing results: my glazes never quite turn out as I expect but I appreciate the moodiness of the gray greens! Plates, soy sauce bowls, a few #matcha mixing bowl things, and a small vase/pencil pot #ceramics

As someone who lives abroad I don't even want it - I just want it for my fellow citizens in need. What's so complicated about that?

This is a coup! U.S. Institute for Peace called the DC police on the Musk team members in an effort to stop them from trespassing because the institute has control of its own building and the land it sits on. But instead, the DC police allowed them to enter and kicked out the institute’s officials.

This is on my to-read list about #meta as I continue to encourage folks to wean themselves off these tools - #amazon too (as I look at @bookshop-org.bsky.social and @supernote.com 👀)
Like @coloradotravis.bsky.social I consumed this over the weekend, and I highly encourage everyone to read it.

The coverage is treating the book as an expose of Meta culture and execs and while it is that, I think the more interesting parts are in between and focus on global power dynamics 1/

I owe an apology to all James Bond movies. I mocked them for having completely unrealistic, cartoonish villains that simply weren't believable.

2025 has made it impossible to levy that criticism anymore.
