Honestly thought Jones would get in over Gonzo (who missed a few games). Jones didn't even show up in the top 10 voting, but Bradbury/Schooler/Henry all did...

In your opinion is this a "voter awareness issue" (few know his worth outside team) or ballot issue (strong fan votes for other players)?

Absolutely fascinating proposal - I've been advocating for a variation of it for a while. Change the incentives in major league sports so it's not just all about the money!
I had not heard of this before today, and I don't think tanking, in general, is a big enough problem to worry about in the NFL, but I'm kind of fascinated by it and think it might be interesting to track.

With Rodgers out may I suggest the cartoon be changed to AR's voodoo powers raising Mason Rudolph off the ground ala King's Elevation novel
STEELERS @ BEARS
I love these drunk ass Bears and the Steelers would absolutely lose this kind of game in stupid fashion.
If the Steelers win, I will draw Rodgers, having gone through “The Jaunt”

My draft night analysis still stands - the next Russell Wilson. Expect him to get to a SB and probably win one too. After his mobility goes, his career down arc will be a lot faster than a pure pocket passer though (ala Wilson again).
lmao how the hell did Caleb not get sacked there (evergreen)

Thinking we'll miss him most against run heavy teams BUF/BAL. Key run defender w/no 50yd rushers for 8 games. Don't think there's much chance of losing division title because of him sitting, but could see drop from #1st to #2nd seed if we lose to BUF/BAL. Bummer to face a #7 KC instead of a bye.
IR return rules indicate the player must miss at least four *games*, not weeks (or bye weeks). That means Williams isn’t eligible to come back until Week 17 against the Jets. He is ineligible to play vs. Cincinnati, the New York Giants, Buffalo, and Baltimore.

More niche literature references in your comics please, I can't be the only one who enjoys them just as much if not more than solely football comics

A team that just scores on a safety + blocked XP return seems very possible in this season of chaotic special teams plays
whenever a team's first score is a safety i just want a 4. just let me see one absolutely hideous 4 in my lifetime

All the Vrabel work to build a high floor team paying off - means the team doesn't miss a beat and dudes just keep stepping up when others go down. What's striking (but not surprising) is Williams' and Henderson's speed vs Boutte and Stevenson. We're not in SB convos yet but 2026 is looking good.
That's on the heels of Williams' top speed of 21.78 MPH on that catch & run TD.
According to Next Gen Stats, TreVeyon Henderson reached a top speed of 22.01 mph on his 55-yard TD run, the fastest speed by a rookie ballcarrier this season, and 5th-fastest by any ball carrier.

*Henderson (why did the Patriots choose 2 RBs with such similar names) 😂
Via Next Gen Stats, RB Rhamondre Stevenson reached 22.01 mph on his 55-yard TD run, the fastest speed by a rookie ball carrier this season, and 5th-fastest by any ball carrier.

And I love that it was first used to refer to "the game of Skat" 😆 Likely some wordsmith will use it to describe the rest of the Giants' season

Do you feel the Patriots' recent success / winning streak can be more attributed to the 1) consistency of the OL lineup this year as opposed to 2024 (only Wilson has missed 1 game at LG in 2025) or to 2) Drake feeling more comfortable behind center in year 2? (Or are the two factors intertwined?)

Mike, have missed your weekly captain posts/stories, who's the captain today?
Patriots call tails. Coin comes up tails.

Titans receive to open the game.

Been waiting awhile to suggest this: I suggest you switch up your 'tie" comic drawing process. Instead of waiting for ties which rarely happen (and for which you can invent a quick comic on the spot anyway), you should instead draw an extra comic each week of the game that "enraged you the most".
I was actually kind of excited for this week of bets but then I killed it and didn't have to draw anything lmao

Request to make Tuaturnovers a regular comic - if the Dolphins still win a game with a Tua Turnover this season for example, you could draw a pic of Tua grilling turnovers stuffed with the other team mascot. For example they beat the Ravens even though he throws a horrible pick = grilled Raven.
There's the baffling late game Tua Turnover of the night!

Which is the most likely second tier receiver scenario: 1) Chism is splitting slot snaps with Douglas by EOY, 2) Boutte leads the team in yards/receptions or 3) Williams has rookie year breakout (+750yd +5TD)?
Need a couple more. Who will rise to the challenge?

And just like that, the $0 incentive streak is over with the Rodgers signing. What will the Steelers adjustment number be now?
The Steelers do not guarantee UDFA salaries. Nor do they release veterans with guaranteed salaries.

The Steelers do not include incentives in their deals.

2025 was the fourth straight the Steelers' adjustment number was zero.
Steelers haven't released adjusted numbers or do they have very accurate accountants?
