Severance S2 was a miss for me. I didn't like that it leaned into the thriller / mystery aspects of the show when the chemistry among the four innies was what made the show special, IMO

Just watched Exiled (2006) after @willmenaker.bsky.social mentioned it. Solid gold. Really wish they still made movies like this

truly wild that plenty of centre-left parties would be too cowardly to use this slogan which should be entirely uncontroversial for any nominally left party (looking at you, Labour)

People like to talk about how they're a "poster" but if you're not getting into hypothetical arguments about which anime studio makes better softcore porn with someone named "EcchiGodMamster" who has over 12,000 posts -- you're just a social media user, not a poster myanimelist.net/forum/?topic...

My brain simply loves to remind itself that every moment is one step closer to the next thing that will go wrong. We really are just filling up the time between personal tragedies, hopefully with good times but mostly with nothing, forgetting to remember impending doom.

Anyway, need new psych meds

We, the Democrats, will build the camps twice as fast as Trump and the Republicans. And we will have an Uncle Sam cosplayer shake the hand of every migrant and trans person as they walk through the gates, to thank them for their services which are no longer needed

The Democrats really are going to run on "we can do fascism more efficiently and competently than Trump can." Awesome
Incompetence in Washington puts every American at risk, no matter how you voted. No one should be happy that the DOGE team - the same folks who randomly published classified U.S. security information online today - wants access to your bank account & Social Security numbers.

Perhaps then in the communist society, the primacy of obligations rather than rights will reign. Transgressors might therefore be punished by having those mutual obligations suspended. This line of thinking is fraught, of course, for multiple reasons.

The flâneur and the busker are not interpellated by the police officer's "Hey, you!" in the same way. One will continue to promenade while the other winces.
Reading a fascinating essay in a book on Althusser and Law: "The Threat of the Outside: Althusser's Reflections on Law" by Warren Montag. Oversimplifying, but in the law one class has its rights protected, and one class has its obligations enforced, but in legal personhood this duality is united.
Ideology does not merely give us the law, but also the extent to which we must follow it or may wield it depending upon, in the last instance, our class position
