you just can’t behave indefinitely as a partisan political body without eventually inviting partisan consequence, and in trying to will the kingdom of donald trump into existence, i think the court has picked a very poor hill to die on
this is really it — this case isn't about the legitimacy of birthright citizenship or the 14th amendment, it's about the legitimacy of the court, and any ruling that doesn't uphold the former decides the latter

it is kind of interesting how not only do they openly yearn for monarchy, but they also want a system of monarchy more absolute than almost any of the historical reference points where the president can tax, spend, declare war, even suspend habeas corpus at will

The credulousness re: the New York Times’ behavior has really got to stop. Your average Times journalist/editor is just an Ivy League social climber who’s still bruised they didn’t get into Porcellian or Tower. It’s really that simple. Some are agnostic to the fascism, others actively want it.
