I wrote about the firing of Alan Sepinwall, which is awful. And I tied it into what's happening all over in the media, why it's scary & what we can do to help. I used my words, but it's definitely Hulk Mo dialed up to 11, if that's a thing you would like to experience: www.moryan.com/on-the-firin...

Amen to everything Dan said. Especially how great — and funny — he was on Reservation Dogs.

Related: all of Reservation Dogs — one of the very best shows of the last decade — is currently streaming on Hulu.
Graham Greene was one of those actors whose presence was absolutely, 100% guaranteed to make whatever movie or TV show he was in better. He added instant gravitas and authority, reliable stealthy humor and depth beyond whatever was on the page.

Should've been Emmy nominated for "Reservation Dogs."
Graham Greene, ‘Dances With Wolves’ Actor, Dies at 73
The actor’s role as Kicking Bird in the 1990 film ‘Dances with Wolves’ earned him a best supporting actor Oscar nomination.

How good a job did Mark Pope do this year? Kentucky is the only team to make the Sweet 16 in the last 20 years with zero (0) returning points from the season prior, per CBS Sports' research.

Not just that, but UK got a 3-seed and didn't have two of its point guards in the process.

Someone send Grandpa to the home.

This deep dive on Netflix purposely turning movies into barely distinguishable forgettable slop is so insightful, researched & brutally hilarious. A must read if you want to really know what’s happening to the business AND culture of movies.

Chilling article. I've always liked Blake Lively as an actress, and said so, yet I was awash in X posts bashing her for petty stuff. Still happening today. But here on Bluesky, where the smear campaign has had little reason to invest, there's virtually no Blake hate. www.nytimes.com/2024/12/21/b...

I’m going this afternoon to pick up a book on hold that I requested they order. Libraries are awesome!
Destroy this myth. Please share if you have visited and researched in a library this past year! RT And give a shout out to your favorite library you have ever visited.

WOW: No. 4 Kentucky 90, No. 7 Gonzaga 89 (OT).

GU had won 175 STRAIGHT when leading by double-digits at half 🤯

UK was down 18 in the 2nd half—and won.

This was the seventh top-10 matchup of '24-25, and another great game. We've really been gifted one awesome matchup after another this season.

A lot of people think everything will work out if we just play by the rules but don’t seem to recognize that rules only matter when everyone agrees to follow them and, well, that isn’t our present reality.

The success of Wicked doesn’t come as a surprise, but when looked at in the context of Hollywood’s near century long journey of trying to find success in the Land of Oz, it’s certainly historic. #Wicked

My two daughters (9 and 7 years old) are *obsessed* with Wicked. Here is their review of the movie (plus me explaining to them what jump scares and CGI are).

A dangerous, stupid man and a pathological liar. I'm hearing some nihilistic "So what if we prevent this? The next nominee will be just as bad" talk. No. You fight the fight that's right in front of you.

New York's theater community is going to be devastated by this heartbreaking news. Several years ago, a Broadway veteran not given to sentiment described Gavin Creel to me as "the person you always want in your show...a perfect colleague." We have lost him much too soon. playbill.com/article/tony...

Libraries are one of the most radical social institutions we have, because they’re based on the idea that *everyone* has the right to information, for free. It’s also what makes them crucial to democracy. I will never stop yelling about this!
Poor people use libraries. Rich people shut them down because they don't *want* poor people to read.

I say this every year: when you are doing an In Memoriam montage, ONLY SHOW THE PEOPLE YOU ARE PAYING TRIBUTE TO. Why is this always so hard? This one ended with a list of names that were so deep into the background of the TV image, you'd need a 4K TV and magnifying glass to make them out.
