I love doing extra work for my day job that will go unnoticed, unappreciated, and/or completely unused.

Shout-out to the dev who got laid off a few months back. I remember when he found my documentation on a jank setup I created and thanked me for dumping code snippets and such there. I miss him.

If we can only have art from people who "aren't in it for the money" that means we can only have art from privileged middle-class dilettantes. Making art being a viable career is responsible for nearly all worthwhile art, and if it's not a viable career any more we will get drastically less of it.

Regarding the fun IngramSpark price sheet debacle yesterday: someone noticed that revision fees were removed from the sheet.

A sales rep at IS posted the only potential silver lining in this mess on Threads, tho I absolutely suspect IS will announce this much later to win back favor.

I did a quick calculation for one of my books and I can eat the cost because it's minimal with the buffer I have in place, but I have a feeling I'll need to bump up prices in another year or two to actually be properly compensated 🫠
