POD or bulk for yourself to manage! They have a POD hookup with Payhip that I've been eyeing. I saw at some point that people were getting their special editions through them for crowdfunding campaigns.

Yeah, I think I might also be in the minority and have my % higher since I can control it for IS. I do that since stores will either stock your book because of requests/popularity or they won't risk it. 🤷

I also can't justify making >$1USD/copy after being an entire 1-person team. 🥲

Yeah the price hike has pissed me off a lot too, so I'm weighing my options... 🫠

It makes me way less stressed about not being able to upload a revision later, for sure. And I can also update some outdated end matter and hardcover dustjacker stuff if this is true 🤞🥲

- Draft2Digital's print service
draft2digital.com/podcalc

- Lulu (20+ year track record publishing; seems overall better to sell via a personal ecomm site)
www.lulu.com/pricing

If there are others that you feel are reputable, please feel free to quote or reply for anyone who finds this.

That being said, here are some alternatives for those wanting physical print books:

- Bookvault (one-time title fee, free revisions; offers amazing customization options; UK based; limited reach for bookstores, but offers a Payhip hookup for direct POD sales)

However I don't want this to surprise anyone later, especially if you're already set on pulling your books from IS.

A price hike vs a fee elimination is a huge difference in profit over time, so I absolutely can't fault anyone for packing up and leaving a service that continues to bleed indies.

No hate on Emily since this is a company thing and that's just what companies do: spin it in their favor later.

Plus, there was speculation floating around that IS was killing the 60-day free revisions they practically just implemented. Thankfully, that doesn't appear to be the case.
