Got an email from the school that the boy was getting an award. Asked him what it might be for? He reeled off four possible subjects. At the ceremony yesterday he got an award in all four. Proud Dad.

I can’t express how proud I feel when I see these #NorthernRiversWatershedInitiative updates.

I didn’t waste my 9 years on Council.

Adopting #NaturalFloodMitigation is our best chance to protect communities & our river in one of the most flood prone catchments in Australia.

The gender pay gap is now at its lowest recorded rate ever. This is because the Labor Govt:
1. Supported minimum wage increases
2. Banned pay secrecy clauses
3. Funded wage increases for aged care workers
4. Supported men to share in parental leave
6. Publishes gender pay gap of individual employers

To the ‘dude’ walking down the street pushing a large boom box in a shopping trolley.

Thanks for the Michael Jackson tunes, they made the trip back to the 1980’s feel complete.

Terrible news today:

This year, one-third of coral cover has been destroyed in two northern sections of the Great Barrier reef due to anthropogenic heating.

Results for the southern sections (which were even hotter) have not been officially released.

A gentle reminder that if we miss the 1.5°C target (and we certainly will), the next target is 1.51°C and not 2°C. We need to keep fighting.

Every tonne of CO₂ emitted makes the job of future CO₂ removal harder, and every 0.01°C of temperature increase makes the world more chaotic and dangerous.
