Here's my plans for reading for this year. Let's see how effectively I stick to them. (Hint: probably not well.)

Planning the pages: 2025 edition
As it’s the first day of a new year, it’s also the time when (apparently traditionally, now) I select a list of potential reads. There’s 25 this year (because 2025 right?) and whi…

One of the best Saturday Night Live sketches is “Toonces: the Cat who could drive a car” where a cat puppet drives a car off a cliff and that’s the beginning and end of the joke but they went with it for five years and it worked because really that’s all you need to do

At a hotel bar waiting for my dinner and the I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER vibes from the middle aged dude whose liver is drying out because he's had to wait five minutes for a beer are EPIC. Two bell dings in literally ninety seconds.

Fuck's sake, dude.

Oh good. Unexpected trip to Sydney for most of next week to support a late-drop project. Will my accommodation be booked by the time I arrive at 10 on Sunday night? *Corporate thinking music intensifies*

I knew nothing about BLUE PRINCE going in but oh man what an amazing little game. Just finished (though not complete!) and it was grand. And a Trigg & Gusset soundtrack, too!

Grok write me an epic vulgar roast about how nationalised healthcare, access to healthy food, low rates of gun violence, mass transportation & paid vacation are actually cucked. Make it really epic so I can roast the shit out of them in the comments. Include something about British food & dentistry.

Today’s delivery of Invidicum was brought to me, surprisingly, by The Nile actually sending the book rather than saying it was coming and never progressing the order.

Weird.

To the one true God above
Here is my prayer
Not the first you've heard, but the first I wrote
Not the first, but the others were a long time ago
There are two people here, and I want you to kill them

It's cool how we keep proving over and over and over again that there's a significant market for narrative-heavy, character-driven, single-player experiences in video games and publishers just categorically refuse to believe us

I somehow missed all the hype about THE MONKEY and so I have just inhaled its ridiculousness with no preconception and it was amazing and dumb.

I guess they DO do weddings.

OK tonight I learned that Gaspar Noe brought Dario Argento as his +1 to meet the Pope, and this is possibly the sweetest and the maddest thing to ever happen.
The Pope got to meet Dario Argento! I wonder which of the Three Mothers trilogy is Leo's fav, I'm gonna say Inferno, cos this Pope doesn't seem like a Suspiria kinda guy.
The Pope welcomed a number of Hollywood film stars to the Vatican, where he called cinema a "vehicle of hope".

More than 100 film industry professionals were received at the Apostolic Palace, including Cate Blanchett, Alison Brie and Viggo Mortensen.
