for whatever reason, the victims of traffic violence never factor into the calculation. no urgency there. but do something that might affect a suburban lawyer who had a few drinks and then it becomes an “equity” issue

Highly recommended!

In addition to the usual topics, this edition also recommended a really great article: lithub.com/maybe-dont-t...

It was maddening, entertaining, and crystallized my issues with the NYT.

What if…it isn’t about saving trees but, rather, stopping development?
Oops, I think someone read my skeet because now Rivera's Amendment 93 makes these buildings impossible!
She revised a bunch of the planting areas, making it harder to use side, front and backyards, or spaces between buildings as planting areas.

Oof. The Dems need to stop pretending, based on some imaginary focus group, that there’s some common ground with Trump. The key is to fight everywhere.

You should go study Neville Chamberlain’s attempt at “common ground.” It didn’t end well for his historical reputation. Or the world.
Hakeem Jeffries: "Donald Trump promised that he would lower housing costs on day one. Here's a suggestion for the Trump administration: try to legislate, and maybe we can find common ground in order to get something done for the American people."

We are beyond disappointed in SDOT's proposals here. Their plan of "exploring future options like dedicated bus lanes once key congestion issues are addressed" is completely nonsensical. You can't just wave a magic wand and get rid of the congestion on Denny.

Bus lanes ARE the solution.

But you see, It's a *historic* parking lot!
Neighbourhood groups will be like “you can’t redevelop that parking lot, we desperately need it. It is always full”

And then you check the TPA report and it’s like, “this lot runs a significant deficit as, based on revenue, not a single space has been used since 1986”
