“The president should be removed from office because he is plainly insane.”

I mean, there is no war in Portland. There just isn’t. You can’t & won’t avoid reporting this story. But you’ll still find a way to try to report it in a way that gives him the benefit of the doubt.

And that’s wrong.

Just FYI: Portland as a war zone is horseshit, and deploying federal troops is horseshit.

Putin: Ukraine is historically Russian and should be controlled by Russia. Send in the tanks.

Netanyahu: Gaza and the West Bank are historically Israeli and should be controlled by Israel. Send in the tanks.

Trump: America is historically white and Christian ...

[P] I can’t really overstate how important Tom Lehrer’s work was to me and to helping shape me as a writer and performer. He was a true one of a kind. I mourn his passing but celebrate all the musical gifts he left us.
My last living musical hero is still my hero but unfortunately no longer living. RIP to the great, great Mr. Tom Lehrer.

Only a very evil person would use the grief and suffering of others to hide his own incompetence
Wow.

Trump says that Texas families who are concerned about the lack of warning before the deadly floods are “evil”: “Only a very evil person would ask a question like that.”

I know it's the flag, but an endless wall of red and white stripes looks stupid. One flag is sufficient.

There is no legit reason for an array of the POTUS flag. Ever. That's not respect for the office, that's a show of personal dominance.

And take off that f'ing hat.

RFK Jr says he didn't know about kids who were disabled or merely different when he was a kid. Why? Because pre-IDEA many kids weren't allowed in schools, or faced too many barriers to even access the building.

Trump wants to eliminate Dept of Ed and give the implementation of IDEA to RFK jr's HHS.

I can't believe that "oppose Trump, unreservedly, his criminality is bad, his policies are bad, they're hurting people in various ways, they're not even popular, don't praise them or him at all, just oppose" is such a controversial position among prominent national Democrats, but it apparently is.

This hits harder if you followed what Trump did with the families of Abbey Gate victims. He brought them to Bedminister, brought them to RNC, basically worked with them as surrogates to trash Biden.

It's telling that Trump's excesses fractured the conservative movement into MAGA and Never Trumpers, but the wildly authoritarian and politically toxic Project 2025 has had zero public impact on the Heritage Foundation. Has *anyone* announced they are parting ways with the group?

A much closer analogy would be "allowing someone who arrived on election day and stood in line before the polls closed to cast a ballot three hours after the polls closed," which is how it works for every election everywhere.

You can't disenfranchise the voter because the government system is slow.

The paradigm has shifted. MAGA is wildly radical, and Democrats are the true conservatives of the constitutional order. Win or lose, it is now Democrats' job to stand athwart history and yell "STOP!"

The entire conversation around government funding is Washington at its worst. I cannot in good conscience vote for a bill that increases costs for Georgians, defunds care for servicemembers, and slashes investments in education and health care.

I am voting NO on the partisan funding bill.

In which the Department of Homeland Security struggles to answer a very simple question: "Is any criticism of the United States government a deportable offense?"
