If they are still asking this, they deserve to lose more by-elections and fire more strategists. If you don’t have firm principles, what is the power even for? My whole adult life they’ve faced this choice and picked “power,” and where has it got them?

So for my majority Non-Canadian followers: the Notwithstanding Clause is a clause in our Charter of Rights and Freedoms (our bill of rights) that basically lets the government go "nuh-uh" to human rights for a period of 5 years...and after five years, you can just...use it again. No cooldown.
