Day job as a VC, here I’m just a bottle of greasy oil and a fintwit refugee
An interesting counterpoint!
If OpenAI lights $1 trillion on fire and achieves nothing of technical consequence whatsoever except for the destruction of existing US copyright and IP laws it would likely be the most effective pro-growth intervention in decades and more than easily justify spending that money.

Seeing some arguing that the Trump-Milei bromance marks a new era of geopoliticised lending.

To which I give you the Clinton-Menem love-in which had the US lending to Argentina (and leaning on the IMF to lend to Argentina) way past the point it was obviously going to default, which it duly did.

Genuinely curious if industry decisions like this will have any impact on policy outcomes

Calling infighting a “caricature” of the left is the rough equivalent of the right claiming that them working in the interests of the wealthy is a “caricature”

These aren’t bugs they’re features.
Scottish branches of 'Your Party' write to Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana demanding some "transparency and respect" from their co-leaders.

"We must all deescalate, work together, and reject temptations to intensify hostility... [so] the worst caricatures of the left can be overcome"

This seems less about AI and more about employees not being able to tell the CEO “you’re processed make me do some really dumb stuff, repeatedly and manually but if I tell you that you might want less employees”
