Great work by Greg Sargent. We are, right now, deciding whether we want to be a land of giant concentration camps and ethnic cleanings.

Trump’s New “Prison Camp” Threat Unleashes Fury Even in MAGA Country
The next phase of ICE’s big ramp-up: a nationwide network of vast detention facilities. But guess what? Even parts of Red America are saying no.

Leigh Wambsganss raised nearly $2.3 million for the SD9 district, much of it coming from three billionaire-funded PACs.

Taylor Rehmet raised $346,000, most of it coming from donations of $100 or less. His biggest donor gave him $12K, and a bunch of local unions also cut him larger checks.

Democrat wins special election for red Texas Senate seat
With ballots tallied from all but a handful of voting centers, Rehmet had 57% of the vote, besting the 43% for his GOP opponent, Leigh Wambsganss, who had a massive spending advantage.

As horrid as the sex stuff is that captures all the attention, I wish Americans would understand it’s part of deeper transnational power plays. Yes, the Epstein / Maxwell headlines are abominable. But it goes *way deeper* and *both* political parties are in on it.
Blinken's stepfather was Maxwell's best friend and lawyer, and after Maxwell died, he became Epstein's advisor sarahkendzior.substack.com/p/red-lines

“LET US OUT!”

women & children scream for help inside a detention camp in TEXAS, where private prisons like core civic make billions of taxpayer dollars holding them while abusing, neglecting them, refusing them health care, feeding them dirty food & water, etc.

@governorwalz.mn.gov ICE had no legal authority to approach Renee or Alex. They can only enforce immigration laws. Neither of these victims qualified. Get restraining order on ICE.

100%. We were lucky then & didn’t lose power, only water - it was still a life altering event. I can’t explain it fully. COVID was still ongoing & soon after a tornado that started five houses away from us while not under a tornado warning and my sense of security will never be the same.
There’s a lot of PTSD related to Winter Storm Uri in 2021. When millions of Texans lost power, water, heat, and hundreds died.

I’ve received about 2 dozen winter weather emergency alerts from city & county government today. Everyone is anxious.

Extreme cold is extremely rare here.

Congress passed the Taft-Hartley Act in 1947 (over Truman's veto) to make general strikes so incredibly difficult to organize that there hasn't been one since.

That there is a general strike happening in a major US city on such short notice is nothing short of a miracle.
National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.
