Adult human. Pronouns: He/Him. Husband, Father, Reader, and hopefully A Good Human.
I am too sarcastic for the internet. Someone just posted about how Bluesky is the nice version of Twitter and I had a sarcastic comment, realized they don’t know me and deleted it.

Anyway, have a nice day everyone.

Just an FYI the National Guard and all armed forces have to stand at attention for the national anthem. So perhaps having that synced up on your phone or just on a loop playing is enough to cause the right kind of chaos. It would look really bad if National guard troops were assaulting and arresting

Does he think it causes autism because maybe he doesn’t understand what mifepristone does… I mean it wouldn’t be too far fetched to assume he is ignorant to its actual purpose.
FDA approved the abortion pill mifepristone 25 years ago.

So why is RFK Jr. raising questions about it now? He's trying to roll back abortion access nationwide.

I'll keep fighting against attempts to restrict access—because medication abortion is safe and effective. Period.

I would like to publicly announce that any reporter that asks the Pres if declaring Antifa a terrorist org means he is pro fascism will get $100, a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies, and homemade loaf of sourdough bread.

This is what I’m saying. He is doing this to get play time so he is seen as a front runner in ‘28. Thank him and commend him for doing something but don’t anoint him as the savior of the Democratic Party because he for sure is not. 1/2
Ok, you know why I don’t like Gavin Newsom? You know how in While You Were Sleeping, Peter Gallagher’s family all talks about how he rescued a nest of baby birds as a kid, and later he admits he knocked their nest out of the tree with a rock, then made sure everyone saw him rescue it?

That’s Gavin.

I am happy the Newsom is doing something but can we all agree He is not the right choice for President in the next election? He has flipped and flopped so much Parker it is like whiplash watching him.

Stand up but please do not crown him the nominee just yet.
Newsom: "He doesn't play by a different set of rules. He doesn't believe in the rules. As a consequence, we need to disabuse ourselves of the way things have been done. It's not enough to just hold hands, have a candlelight vigil, talk about way the world should be...we have got to meet fire w/fire"

This is when those good things they wanted come back to bite them in the ass. Going to be real hard to start arresting or impeaching judges if they are performing official acts and if you can prosecute a judge for it why can’t you prosecute the president???

Because a like and a comment are not enough. I would pre-order this book so fast my credit card would get whiplash.
here is a very self-serving question for y’all: if i were to put out a curated book of my work from the past half decade on democracy and constitutional reform in the US — with plenty of new material as well — would you find that worthwhile?

Sovereign citizens are mostly idiots but don’t get on their bad side because they will use the very laws they claim don’t apply to them to make your life a living hell.

Did you know in the theory of infinite universes there is one where you can just punch fascists in the dick all day with no repercussions… I wonder if I have to apply to go to that universe?

Let me tell you a little story. This might be a shirt thread but it may go on for a while but just hear me out.

Say you are walking through a grassy field on a beautiful sunny spring day. The weather is that perfect sort of temperature with warm breezes and just enough cloud cover. 1/?
I did not--and this is completely on me--understand the existential horror that digital collections could be under fascism.

If they wanted to burn the books, they'd at least have to go manually and start torching the place.

With this it's just...

This post is me and I feel heard.
I don’t mean to be weird and dramatic but I just want to scream my brains out and eat everything and fight everyone like God’s angriest little seagull, but also just go live on the bottom of the ocean like a flounder with a little peanut brain and everything is dumb and I hate it

Ahh... the full Elie experience :)
This is an excellent article that makes me want to throw up.
Trump has been racking up some procedural "wins" at the Supreme Court and the answer for why is simple: John Roberts is a feckless coward. He's like a cop in Uvalde, cowering outside waiting for the shooting to stop, instead of doing his job.

I have been having this argument with people all day on reddit. W we have to hope because it will drive them crazy to see us joyful and hopeful for a better future. It will remind them that their time is limited.
In defense of hope.

There is so much I could say about Newsom but really I am glad he is doing this because it shows why I never liked him as a potential presidential candidate. Sometimes you just know about people and he was one of those that gave me the heebie-jeebies.
Podcasts are dangerous for people who don't know when to stop talking
Gavin Newsom sees 10-point net drop in favorability since launching his podcast. Survey finds "the podcast only made 13% of voters have an improved perception of the Governor, with 26% saying that it harmed their perception."

You want to know the best way to prove you are getting rid of government agencies being too political? Issuing a new Exec Order every day the is exactly the kind of EO that would be ordered to politicize a gov agency.

Please feel free to read the thread but know this. The states get to decide who runs on their ballots, not the federal government. Governors and state election officials will fight to keep him off the ballot in almost every state. Some of the dumber ones might not fight it. 1/

Under the U.S Constitution, the President is very explicitly not a king. The President's wishes and decrees do not magically become law.
