White supremacists are such a big bunch of goofies! The nerve of the dredges of the bottom barrel of humanity to think they're better than everyone.

Do you know how expensive it is to be undocumented in the US? After living more than a decade in the US, Alix Dick calculated that it’s cost her close to $2 million to survive. #ImmigrantStories @anterobot.bsky.social @embodiedwunc.bsky.social

When I wrote this, I didn't realize it was going to end up being an obituary, but it was still such a fun one to work on. Weirdness will prevail. Art will survive.

While at surface level, #WeirdTok is all fun and games, it also cuts to something deeper about being human.

It's really important to me that everybody know about this completely insane, uh, "song" from Jimmy's solo album that was supposed to be the follow up to Bat Out Of Hell but Meat wasn't into it. It may be the most important thing ever recorded.

cis people wish they could inflict on us the kind of emotional hurt and disorder trans women inflict on each other daily by talking about shit like passing or stealth and ingraining the negativity and self loathing that flows out from that

god i was just going to post earlier about how the attack on trans healthcare is a trojan horse for attacking all healthcare which is some shit i've been on for a while now but i feel like it's just proven true more and more each day
"Trans healthcare is healthcare" disappeared one day in 2020 and hasn't been seen since.
I can't help but notice that as trans acceptance backslides that casual allyship amonst cis people, even those that claim allyship loudly, is down noticeably.

A few years ago, cis strangers would defend my pronouns, now it's back to mostly close friends, mostly queer people.

I've read most of the scholarship about US policing since the early 20th century. What you learn from this is that violence is inherent. You cannot "separate" out violence from policing. Police in the U.S. are violence workers.

Oh I am SO EVEN MORE excited for The Persephone Effect after listening to this. @callistokhan.bsky.social is absolutely the perfect addition to the Maria Ying hive mind, not only an incredible writer, she just *gets it*
Early access!

Emma and Talia bring you an interview with one-third of bestselling author Maria Ying, about lesbian futurism, not-so-feminist Greek myth retellings, and how the past is a foreign country (so you can be orientalist about it)! 'The Persephone Effect' is out this January!

can't stress this enough. Bluesky is both 1. surveilled and 2. unerasable. Do not fedpost on this platform. Keep it to yourself, or if you _must_, then go to an encrypted Signal chat.

No they should not kill you but if you run from law enforcement that is against the law. Wouldn't be worth my life.

If you made a Venn diagram of every weird person I knew in Silicon Valley during the first dot-com boom, centrifuged it, extracted the pellet, and re-suspended it in high-proof eugenics with a splash of AI, you'd end up with something like this.

If you're stable (housed, fed, spending funds) & haven't changed what you're doing from a year or two ago to actively help folks survive fascism, then what you're doing now is assimilating to fascism.

Stop it.

This will not pass without action from everyone who can act.

People don't get help because everyone's avoiding them because looking upon their pain makes them uncomfortable & I know that from my own experience as a trauma survivor. And that's why I look on pain, not pornographically indulging in it, but if it crosses my path.
