There's a couple reasons so many IWW songs are set to the tunes of hymns and one is that the Salvation Army Band would show up and try to stop workers organizing by playing hymns to drown out speeches, so the Wobblies came up with words so they could sing along. SA has been trash all along.
It's that giving time of year again, so this is a reminder that no matter how they try to dress it up, the Salvation Army is not a charity.

Pretty much anything bad in America today can be traced back to Reagan or racism, though I guess Reagan is really just a subset of racism so it’s all just racism.

After 15 months of living here I finally got my last set of shelves put up and unpacked my backlog of miniatures. Maybe being able to see them will convince me to finally build/paint them.

The tech job market is bleak in general, but practically nonexistent if you have morals at all. AI, ads, “fintech”, contract role supporting the department of homeland security: uh, no thanks I would rather be broke.

This is extremely bad and worrisome for obvious reasons, but it's worth pointing out that this was obviously the student's goal
She knowingly wrote a garbage essay for her trans prof's class and when she obviously got a terrible grade stirred up a media storm
This was clearly the intended outcome

I have long posited that Daniel Craig's accent in Glass Onion is better than Knives Out because in Knives Out he is trying to do a real Southern accent and is bad at it but in Glass Onion he is just talking like Foghorn Leghorn, which is something a real gay Southern weirdo would do.
