every day I think about the comms strategy of the korean opposition party in the wake of the coup and I get so burningly resentful that other countries have legislators who are awake
4 things their Democratic Party has that we don’t:
1. Party assigns every candidacy for legislative races.
For most, you are expected to run in competitive districts by your 3rd term. Your safe seat will be given to someone the party leadership thinks drive the message better.

Maybe there’s solid numbers behind the reporting but I find the framing that accepts sports betting’s ubiquity at face value to be really out of touch
