For your general consideration....we published eight novellas this year. Three issues of Baffling. And a short story collection by Christopher Caldwell.

(Plus we are sneaking out AT LEAST two more anthologies, an issue of Baffling, and a chapbook by Izzy Wasserstein before the end of the year.)

this weekend i lost my phone because it fell off a rollercoaster, which is the most baffling thing that's happened to me all year

i didn't even notice until i stood up, and turned back thinking it must've fallen in my seat, but then several people went "we saw a phone fall! :D ...was it yours"

The first story I wrote in 2025 is also my final story of 2025! "Ornithogonia, or Five Featherings" is the tale of a priestess and the woman she wants desperately not to love, told by a bitter goddess. It's about faith, all-consuming love, and also birds 🐦‍⬛ Out now at @flashfictiononline.bsky.social!

ok. i am about to get sentimental on main.

The Iron Garden Sutra is going to be out in like...4 months, and i have complicated feelings. i love sci-fi. i grew up reading it and now i'm writing it (yay!). but it feels like the genre is shrinking except for the well-established heavy hitters.

One of the things I enjoyed most about studying Victorian lit in college was how these people would read each other for filth in the most roundabout ways. And "My Sincere Apologies For the Demon" by @adrianwardwrites.bsky.social puts me exactly in that mindset. I LAUGHED so many times here. Read it!
