This is really incredible. The government's battle to deport Abrego Garcia has apparently been based on a lie from the start. Not even the "gang affiliation" lie or the "human smuggling" lie, but the more basic assertion that he was ordered to be deported in the first place.
🚨Judge Xinis finds that, incredibly, Mr. Abrego Garcia was never ordered deported in 2019. She notes that every since this saga began all the way back in March, the government has NEVER been able to produce any evidence that the immigration judge actually issued a removal order.

People need to acknowledge that all of the loud voices on the "Dems have to move to the center" team are paid by a Super PAC with the express purpose of electing more moderate Dems. They are not putting impartial empirical research out there. it's just Super PAC fundraising masquerading as "data"
none of these people (inclusive of UK labour) seem to understand that voters want their leaders to *lead* them, not reflect their own ill thought preferences back at them

Read @nicolefoy.bsky.social's investigation that prompted the congressional probe.

We found that agents had detained >170 Americans this year. More than 20 citizens said they were held for at least a day without being able to contact a lawyer or their loved ones.

Brett Kavanaugh is proud of your service.
Agents in Key Largo, Florida ripped this woman wearing medical scrubs out of her car as she screamed she is a US citizen. Agents cuffed her and put her in one of their cars.

She was eventually let go, per David Goodhue of the Miami Herald, who also took this footage:

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

A country with high levels of partisanship is one where partisans are less reactive to scandals. And other forces are working to boost Platter right now, too, including anger among Democrats at both party leadership and the gerontocracy, and rising left populism in the Democratic base

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

There are so many awful and bad decisions being made by this white house that it's hard to rank what is worse. The creation of a politicised secret police force with ICE. The buddying with dictators. The undermining of the judiciary. It's all just awful.
I still think canceling USAID takes the cake in causing death and pain by a long shot.

The U.S navy is being used to essentially do piracy. You can't just go blow up random fishing boats, murdering their crews. What's worse is that this is the exact kind of behaviour China engages in. Worse in fact. At least the Chinese navy didn't blow up and murder Filipino fishermen yet.
sadly from my persepective it barely even makes the news

I've been watching what's going on in the UK with growing alarm; the immigration proposals are getting increasingly ridiculous. We're nearly at the point where the latest proposal will be that anyone who wants to move there must be apprenticed as a Morris Dancer for 5 years first.
Haven’t read the report yet but this looks to me like another example of adding yet more makework to the immigration process for unclear reasons other than possibly getting mentioned in Politico Playbook.

The only explanation for this is that these people would disprove the administration’s narrative about the identity of the people we are murdering. I’m a little surprised they didn’t just straight-up murder these two in custody. That’s who the government is now.
Breaking News: The Trump administration has decided to repatriate two survivors of a deadly U.S. strike this week on suspected drug runners in the Caribbean Sea rather than prosecute them or hold them in military detention, people with knowledge of the matter said on Saturday.
