Day 1 “Two-Man Luge: A Love Story” by Claire Battershill

I really enjoyed the Olympic element related to this first story and the luge of all sports. I appreciated the ending as it brought the story full circle. A great start to the 12 Days!

Day 12
Nature creates a dancing art display with this vibrant corona across the night sky during a strong aurora substorm last year.
This camera lens view picked up more colour than the eye can see, but it’s still fantastic to experience.

I don’t pretend to know the science behind it, but it’s an incontrovertible truth that the reading experience is enhanced by a minimum of 63% when it’s accompanied by tea, pastries, and a crackling fire.

For Wired, I wrote about this week's stomach-churning Mad Men snafu, and about the larger perils of transferring classic shows into new formats:
HBO Max’s 'Mad Men' Barf Scene Proves ‘Remastered’ Doesn’t Mean ‘Better’
The errors in one of the most beautiful shows ever made continue a modern tradition of reformatting things that are better off left alone.

At the end of the day, don’t we all just want to read books in front of a crackling fire in a Scottish Highlands cottage during a raging snowstorm whilst enjoying a plate of chocolate croissants?

I’ve always wondered about Cooper in this scene, is he in Truman’s office or somewhere else completely? Beautiful series!

Well, I finished Malazan book 1, Gardens of the Moon, incredible read but I still feel like I don’t have a complete grasp of this world yet. I’m curious to see where things go in book 2!
