Why aren’t people being paid enough to live on? Isn’t this just a subsidy to businesses who underpay their staff? And if so, let’s call it what is.
70% of the additional spending from removing the two-child limit will go to families who are in work. This is targeting support for low-income working households who are being priced out of a decent standard of living despite doing everything asked of them.

WTF is wrong with Labour? Has noone in the cabinet learnt anything from 1930s Germany, or what’s currently happening in the US?
Why do they want us to leave the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR)?
The Government moots leaving the ECHR as a pragmatic solution to an immigration “crisis”, but is there a more sinister motive behind the push?

Never thought I’d say this, but Pope Leo is taking a pretty strong stand on what are *actual* Christian values, and the Church of England should too.
Why Tommy Robinson supporters are turning to Christianity
The Church of England is grappling with what to do about followers of the far-right figure embracing faith.

The government have opened a consultation on drastically limiting the Indefinite Leave to Remain system.

Presumably they're hoping not many people will notice that it's taking place.

So if you have views or know anyone who does, please take the opportunity to respond.

But if the government start taxing the likes of Starbucks & they leave, Are we seriously saying that Britain will stop drinking coffee?

£3 billion in UK sales & they don't want to pay tax?

It's time to get of the merry-go-round & use our smaller, local retailers who will pay their taxes.

Got my boiler fixed today and set the heating nice and high to warm everywhere up. Now my entire house is like a furnace. I miss being cold. 😐

The UK isn’t a “soft touch” on asylum.

UK asylum seeker benefits are similar to European neighbours

No right to work before 12 months (it’s 6 months in France, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands)

UK settlement after 5 years (it’s 3 or 4 in Germany)

Let’s cut out the alarmist rhetoric.

So much to dissect here. I’m going to start with ‘frozen hot chocolate’.
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

Last night I dreamt I single-handedly stopped a major heist that started in a department store.

Also in my dream: husband cross because the criminals had my phone so I didn’t let him know I’d be late meeting him for dinner. 🙄

2/2….but it is now one that is very relevant. That’s because a large chunk of the $7tn investment pouring into data centres between now and 2030, as forecast by McKinsey, is being financed by debt of the kind that lines millions of nest eggs".

This is why people don’t like politicians - not answering the question* but trotting out some pompous and meaningless way of avoiding answering.

* Obviously he *can’t* answer the question because then he’d have to acknowledge how monstrous this policy is.
Asked if Keir Starmer believes British people want to "see refugee children pulled out of school and deported after 10 years in this country”, his spokesman says that “what the British public wants and what this government was elected on a mandate to deliver was to secure our borders"

We should stop the boats because it's dangerous, and we should stop the scapegoating of immigrants because it's wrong and cruel.

Controlled migration is good for the country, helps build our economy and diversity strengthens our communities. (1/6) 🧵

Confiscating jewellery from survivors of a war zone makes you look like a fucking Nazi. And the obscene thing is, that is the intention. It's there to look appropriately harsh. Indecent. Filthy. A moral stain. And no-one of good character would have ever proposed such a thing in the first place.
