Not the Steve Young you are thinking of.

Sometimes a corporate lawyer, sometimes an art software developer.

In the process of migrating from Instagram, my Pixelfed account is here:

I don’t know how anyone can talk about power tools being useful with a straight face. I heard about this one guy who managed to cut off a finger because he didn’t bother to learn how to properly use a circular saw. Power tools will never increase productivity.
I don’t know how anyone can still talk about “the AI revolution” with a straight face. Reuters story about a railroad company that has sunk $300,000 into “developing AI products” and appears to have made…a chatbot that doesn’t work?

For millions of us, this was the first time we ever saw Rob Reiner. …When he became “Meathead” on “All in the Family.”

He was brilliant from Day One.

This is a white supremacist rally. Anyone who attends something like this or still supports the leader of this movement should be unwelcome in your home and shunned from civil society. Period. We’re way past the point where this crap should be tolerated from anyone. Cast them out.
Trump: "Ilhan Omar, whatever the hell her name is. With her little turban. I love her. She comes in, does nothing but bitch ... we ought to get her the hell out ... she's here illegally."

The crowd in Pennsylvania then starts chanting "send her back!"

The word that the @washingtonpost.com is avoiding in this headline is “murder”. Intentional, premeditated murder.

Democracy is dying in darkness here because they won’t say what this is.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

OMG, this thread. Having spent many years in law firms and big corporations, this whole thing brings back memories (some of the posts hit so close to home they made my hair stand on end).

It's nice to be retired from all that, so this can all now be amusing.
Hello, please see attached. They want to sign on Monday so we have our work cut out for us before then. I have a prior family engagement this weekend, but I’ll be available for update calls 9pm each night. I’ve put time on your calendars for those. Let’s get started.

I would also like "hold ICE personnel responsible for their crimes."
Abolish ICE is the absolute minimum acceptable policy.
eric swalwell said on msnow that a major goal of a dem majority after the midterms would be for ice masks to come off and badges to come out, this is insufficient

Pride is not the only emotion that you're allowed to have about your history. There are many others that can and do apply. It should not be a failing or a threat to your sense of self to acknowledge those other emotions. To speak them aloud as you watch history unfold.

Unfortunately, typical human psychology is such that very few people are able to process the fact that these are not contradictory statements:

1. Charlie Kirk was a bad person, and should never be celebrated.
2. Charlie Kirk should not have been murdered, and his killer is also a bad person.

His people took issue with my piece, but we were respectful.

Now he is tweeting in support of me.

This is how free political speech and respect for debate *actually works*.

Or used to work.

I'm holding off on canceling Disney+ and Hulu for a couple of days, because it's at least *possible* that someone in charge will reverse course and say, basically, "whoever made that decision fucked up." And I don't want to be canceling then signing up again.
