What a lede on this story: Man who complained about narrowing a road in order to protect pedestrians, so much that the city eventually reversed the change, then kills a woman on that very road with his car www.washingtonpost.com/business/int...
America’s plan to protect pedestrians failed. A young woman’s death reveals why.
U.S. officials adopted Europe's Vision Zero initiative, but many cities have seen an increase in pedestrian fatalities despite efforts to improve road safety.

Denver's biggest snowstorm peaked 112 years ago today, as over 20" of snow fell on Dec. 4, 1913 alone!

In all, 45.7" of snow fell between Dec. 1-5 (mostly on the 4th-5th), the biggest snowstorm (by far) on record in Denver.

It took nearly a full month to clean up from!

Which will win: the individual capitalist consumer's instinctive desire to move through public space protected by the most luxurious & biggest possible suit of armor, or society's collective interest in managing public spaces to the benefit of the most people?

1. Missouri prefiled bills are in, and the anti-trans panic continues.

One even goes as far as to ban social transition in schools.

Any teacher who "supports" it, including name changes, pronouns, or "treatment," would be fired.

Even with parent permission!

The bill defines social transition as name changes and pronouns, and would disallow any "conduct that facilitates" such social transition.
