Christmas Television allows you to be the scheduler now, just because prime time BBC1 and ITV looks horrible.

There are other gems in the schedules of course or that our brains just misremembered what Christmas Day television was like. Perhaps through newspapers telling us it was all good.

As much as we focus on the big day, growing up one of my favourite things about Christmas were all the documentaries and not seen elsewhere in the year films and short programmes. Still remember being introduced to Ken Burns when they showed the Civil War each morning on BBC2.

With Christmas 🎄 now just a few short weeks away, so too is the new year of 1966.

Changes are afoot..
WORLD WEATHER CHAOS! Ocean Levels Rising FROM OUR UNITY CITY REPORTER FOR the first time in fifty years, Earth is faced with the havoc of uncontrolled weather. A mysterious and dramatic rise in the temperature of the polar ice cap has led to extensive melting of ice and a three foot rise in the level of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. This has caused widespread flooding throughout the Northern Hemisphere with Holland, Belgium, England and low lying areas of America and Canada being the worst affected areas. As millions of refugees trudge inland away from the floods, the World Senate has called on the Aquanaut Security Patrol to investigate the cause of the temperature rise. Commander Sam Shore, Marineville's controller has ordered Stingray to the polar region. (Full report pages 14/15) The main cover photo this week is of Commander Sam Shore and Lt. Atlanta Shore in Marineville's control. SKARO EXPLOSION THE invasion of Skaro came to a sudden end when the extinct volcano base of the Monstron invaders exploded into action destroying the enemy bridge-head. No one yet knows why or how the volcano became re-active, but there is no doubt that the results will give the Daleks the opportunity of rebuilding their city and re-organise their defences against any further surprise attacks. STOP PRESS World President, Nikita Bandranaik, has declared Holland as a flood disaster area. World navy amphibian craft have been rushed to all Dutch coastal towns to help with rescue operations.
