ADMIRAL BEATTY ARRESTED AT dawn this morning U.S.S and World Senate Special Agents arrested World Navy Chief Admiral Beatty on a charge of spying. Unity City has been staggered by the news. People who have known Admiral Beatty for years cannot believe that he has been arrested, but an official U.S.S. spokesman stated that there was evidence that Admiral Beatty has been passing top secret information to the Bereznik Government. At a special sitting of Unity City's magistrate court, lawyer Rur Bendin asked for a week's remand stating that the prosecution will then be ready with its case. Biography of Admiral Beatty on page 14 Sea Leopard Attacked STINGRAY RUSHES TO BATTLE AREA MARINEVILLE'S latest search and attack vessel, Sea Leopard, was badly damaged today when attacked by mechanical flying fish. The flying fish, which are little more than remote controlled dive bombers, leaped to the attack as Sea Leopard finished the first of her sea trials. Stingray immediately started an intensive hunt for the flying fish carrier. The World Maritime Board has now asked the World Aquanaut Security Patrol if they could find out whether the merchant vessel Florida, which disappeared last week, was sunk by the flying fish. Full report pages 4/5. THUNDERBIRD 2 ARRIVES It was reported from Canada today that Thunderbird 2 has arrived at the forest fire danger zone. Expertly piloted by Virgil Tracy the huge green ship descended out of the smoke blackened sky to join Thunderbird 1 in its dangerous rescue bid. Full report on pages 10, 11 and 12

My favourite fact about space, zero gravity and vacuums is that metals can fuse together, their particles mingle because there’s no oxygen to form an oxidised layer. It’s called cold welding. Working outside and put an uncoated spanner down on the hull. That may well be staying there 🤣

RESCUE STATIONS Thunderbird One in Danger Zone Exclusive TV 21 report Direct from Disaster Area THUNDERBIRD 1 has at last arrived. Its huge, sleek shape stands in the forest clearing stark against a backcloth of billowing smoke and leaping flames. The heat from the blazing fir trees is so intense, that even though we are a mile from the fire, our clothes are scorching. But the inferno is only part of the story. Somewhere in the forest are two men, Lincoln and Farrell, and their only hope of escape is that sleek rocket ship and the organisation that it represents. Since its arrival, Thunderbird 1's pilot has been in constant touch with the huge Thunderbird 2 which is just approaching the danger zone. No-one knows what equipment International Rescue will use in this desperate situation, but it had better be good if those trapped men are going to survive the sea of flames which is fast closing in on them from three directions..

RESCUE STATIONS Thunderbird One in Danger Zone Exclusive TV 21 report Direct from Disaster Area THUNDERBIRD 1 has at last arrived. INTERNATIONAL RESCUE ALERTED IN FIRE DRAMA THE lives of two men hang precariouslý on an radio call sent from a scene of disaster. The danger threatening is fire, a sea of flame eating its way through miles of fir covered Canadian countryside. The radio call, made furtively as one man plotted his partner's murder, was picked up by Thunderbird 5, and within seconds, International Rescue's base had been alerted-the task, to release a trapped man and his would-be murderer. According to my car's short wave radio receiver, Thunderbird i is on its way. To me-International Rescue has turned a straight forward story into a world scoop. To the trapped men, it is their only means of hope. Full report—page 10 SEA LEOPARD LAUNCHED THE new WASP surface vessel, Sea Leopard was launched this afternoon at Marineville. The Sea Leopard, a high speed search-and-attack vessel, carries thirty missiles and ten escort fighters. Capable of a speed of seven hundred knots, this new addition to the WASP fleet will join Stingray and start its sea trials immediately. (Marineville Press Office Report)
