A note on SaneWashing: I read part of this post to family (all liberal Democrats who consume a lot of news, but not social media), and it blew their mind. They all thought it was parody: if Corporate Media did not SaneWash, it would shock US, his approval would plummet from low (30s) to lower(20s).

In case you’re wondering why Pete Hegseth is freaking out about a congressional video reminding the military not to participate in illegal orders:
To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."

"Dear Hatemongers, We Aren't Going Back"

Trump, Stephen Miller, & MAGA have already lost. No matter how hard they try to send people of color "back" to our "third world countries," there are just too many of us. We're here & we're winning.

Trump’s stated justification for every single one of his despicable pardons of multiple drug traffickers, wealthy fraudsters, people who beat up cops, cronies, violent criminals, and politically connected Republicans is always the same: “I heard they were treated very unfairly.”

You're not seeing the defense and international conflict experts disagreeing because if the facts are true, it's one of the most basic things in the law of armed conflict: You cannot kill people who are "hors de combat," taken out of the game by injury or attack. This is Geneva 101 stuff.
I follower a few defense experts.

Seeing them all straight-up declare this a war crime without any him-and-hawing is uhm

Disconcerting.

Pete Hegseth must resign, as does Stephen Miller. Donald Trump should be subpoenaed before Congress to answer for HIS policy.

The headline is not just that Pete Hegseth issued a plainly unlawful order to intentionally slaughter survivors after an initial strike. It is also that senior military officers improperly carried out those orders.

I’ll be up late tonight…(nothing new, I guess) working on tomorrow’s article regarding the story of Pete Hegseth…and the order of “Kill them all” that was reported earlier today.

I’ve already got a lot that no one else is reporting…and very likely…won’t.

Look for it mid-late morning.

To me, "Drumpf" and the other names are just the left-wing equivalent of "Killary" and "Demonrats." An instant signal not to take the person seriously.
When someone calls him Drumpf or tRump, my opinion of them is immediately lowered. It just looks and sounds so stupid and childish. I'm all for mocking these clowns, but have a little self-respect while doing so.

Most people accept it everyday.

The non-accountability is way stronger than any sense of national morals.

They elected a racist, a rapist, a felon, and vile insurrectionist. They knew this in advance and did it anyway.

You offend me with this notion. That we must accept that these men who have stolen from us, committed murder, visited treason, sedition and other tyrannies upon this once proud republic be permitted amnesty in a corrupt use of the pardon power. I say to hell with that! 🇺🇸

Yes. Of course. We shall submit ourselves to the further disfiguring corrupt proceduralism of a court that has been entirely captured by a clan of economic and political elites, whose entire summum bonum is the deconstruction of the independent public bureaucracy, such that oligarchs may rule.

The way to understand it is to realize that the chain of command is built not only on discipline, but on trust. If you're a major in the army and your colonel says to do something, you assume - and legally, you are *required* to assume - that several officers senior to you already vetted it.
I’ll never understand the conflict that exists between “refuse manifestly illegal orders” and “but my superiors signed off on it”

You don't win elections by running on what pollsters tell you. You sell a worldview, that makes sense of peoples problems, and gives them a vision of how to fix it. FDR didn't have pollsters workshop talking points for the New Deal.
