"Each technological advancement that could free up physician time has instead tightened the productivity ratchet: these “efficiency gains” have simply been used to squeeze more visits, more billing, and more profit out of every hour."

It can't be underestimated how important this is.

Like 'SIM', this scandal has been uncovered by survivors themselves, not professionals.

Anyone concerned about patient safety, the merging of the private sector & the state, misuse of technology, research ethics & human rights needs to read this.

FYI Universal Credit for a single person is £4,801.68 per annum for which you will be harassed, coerced and threatened constantly via your own mobile phone by the DWP, while in media you will be called scrounging workshy scum by the LABOUR party.
A single person in the UK now needs to earn £30,500 a year to “participate in society” and "live with dignity", new research has found.

Finally, inspired by Ruha Benjamin’s call for a radical reimagining of what technoscience might look like outside of carcerality, we imagine how mental health technologies could be otherwise. Enter: FishVision cameras

While drawing attention to the oppressive & violent nature of technologies such as Oxevision (now LIO), we ultimately reject the notion that mental health technologies are, in themselves, either ‘good’ or ‘bad’ but inherently entangled with the violent injustices of psychiatry and its carceral tools

The NHS Long Term Plan promised all mental health services would be trauma-informed. The Women’s Mental Health Taskforce said the same. Now, the 10-Year Health Plan doesn’t mention trauma-informed care at all. Such a sad, telling step backwards. assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/686639...

🚨BREAKING: MPs have just voted for cuts to social security - with unwritten promises from the UK Government

This is reckless.

Disability rights aren’t optional. Poverty is a political choice. This Govt chose it tonight.

We'll keep fighting until this cruel Bill is rejected completely.

evolution of MH research → boom of "clinical" technological interventions = very clear example of research to surveillance pipeline
Are only a few rogue entities and authors powering to surveillance? Nop! We found, across institutions, nations and subfields, the practice of research to surveillance pipeline is a pervasive norm.

Our Green Paper response is clear. This isn't reform. It's cuts disguised as change.

The proposals would:
Push more Disabled people into poverty 📉
Link support to a failing PIP system 🚫
Undermine safety, autonomy & rights ⚠️

whats also "ironic" is that when it comes to caring for distress or supporting neurodivergent ppl suddenly there's not much psychosocial intervention left isn't it?

so thats decades of slashed adult MH social care expenditure on one end and transphobic ban on medical care on the other
Some strong (& fabricated) medical statements here from the Under-Secretary of Health. They state that trans adolescents "will benefit more from a clinical
approach that is focused on psychosocial and psychological support".

Even the Cass Review doesn't claim that trans adolescents "benefit more"
