Survivor-led campaign to stop Oxevision (now LIO) and other camera surveillance systems being used on psychiatric wards in the UK
We were asked to speak at this KCL PRU event - you can watch Hat on the panel here. As they point out, we don't need even 'more research' on surveillance, we need decision-makers to take action. Now.

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Trust @cntw.bsky.social have you installed Oxevision on the mother and baby unit? The new ward leaflet has added information about Oxevision as well as body worn cameras. This is unspeakably unethical.

All of this is heartbreaking but the feedback from patients, including those on a children's ward is harrowing.

Following an article by @novaramedia.com we have now shared part one of the timeline of Oxford Health's installation of Oxevision.

The report outlines how the Trust invested millions in a technology its patients described as 'creepy', 'unsafe' and 'spying'

Any person or organization in US who wants to extend this amazing work here, please get in touch. #Oxevision (LIO) entered US market in CO in 2024 - a major step in their business plan - at Summitstone Health Partners w funding from #LarimerCounty. #LIO wants to be in prisons and elder care also.

Follow this brilliant group of activists campaigning to stop Oxevision, the intrusive & dehumanising surveillance system rolled out across large numbers of UK mental health wards. Who benefits from the adoption of such 'innovative' tech? And why have patients been excluded from its implementation?

Not only is this system an infringement on mental health patients' privacy, there is no evidence base behind its use in Inpatient wards. This system is also surveillance, and unhelpful for patients who do not consent to this and have trauma and/or symptoms involving surveillance.

1/ Super work #StopOxevision #StopLIO. PS IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO GIVE CONSENT TO SURVEIL TECH LIKE OXEVISION LIO. This is not CCTV. They calibrate "AI" w plans to do so-called prediction of high-risk behavior. They're data use is future & open-ended, that's why meaningful consent is not possible.
