Being in government shouldn't be an investment strategy or get rich quick scheme. It's called "public service" for a reason, let's make that phrase mean something again.

I guess it’s a good thing we were so concerned about the right to speak our opinions being outlawed by a ruling class that we guaranteed it by making it the very first amendment in our Bill of Rights when we formed the country.

ICE raids on farms have a chilling effect on the labor force, leaving crops unharvested in the fields and supply chains disrupted. Agricultural employment dropped 6.5%. Replacing and retraining workers is costly and time-consuming for farmers. Those costs get passed on to you.

Members of the military, the national guard, have a choice: Follow the illegal orders of a madman dictator and risk getting smoked. That's what happens when you wage war on a country with more guns than people.

Oppression of any population will invariably lead to violence. Who started this war?

Just like an earlier post about violence toward women in America, gun violence and mass shootings are problems with solutions and workable approaches but our power structure defiantly refuses to even consider them.
NO SLOWING on the gun violence this week: there were 13 separate mass shooting incidents in the United States where 17 people were killed and 52 were injured.

My Sunday recap covers this AND all the critical legal and political details of last week: shero.substack.com/p/shero-on-s...

Excellent point. I agree that we are sadly dealing with a pervasive PATTERN that society refuses to properly deal with.
"One of the reasons the epidemic of violence against women is so unacknowledged is because cases like these are talked about individually, and often treated as though they are shocking aberrations rather than part of a pervasive pattern that operates at all levels of society."
The problem is far bigger than Jeffrey Epstein | Rebecca Solnit
Treating the scandal as an aberration misunderstands the global epidemic of violence against women

📌Trump inherited the strongest economy in the entire world, and screwed it up in record time. Job growth has stalled, and is at a 16-yr low — or the last time a Democrat was fixing a battered economy left in shambles by a Republican.

Why did anybody think it would be any different this time around?
