The fact that Leo Frank trutherism has gone from something no one had heard of other than a few neo-Nazis a decade ago, to something that is now widely spread on social media by activists and academics on both right and left, is such a depressing sign for our future.
just the weirdest mix of open Neo-Nazi accounts celebrating the anniversary of Leo Frank’s lynching by watching Birth of a Nation & then other accounts treating his lynching as a rejection of racism by the KKK? and then some that unapologetically equate Jewishness with lying and child abuse.

I’ll never forget how Doug Jones eschewed national media when he ran against Roy Moore. If you wanted to talk to him, you had to go to a campaign event in Alabama. Nationalizing races makes people feel involved but doesn’t actually help Dems win.
i'm no iowa-knower here, but it's a pretty red district with a large chunk of independent voters; her paths to winning are getting a decent slice of those voters and/or hoping republicans don't care/stay home. in either case, making it a national race works against her.

we see very clearly in public polling that people in california and D.C. hate the deployments and that americans broadly disapprove of them, but here we have an assertion that the smart strategy is to avoid any discussion of the situation in favor of a pivot to, you guessed it, kitchen table issues.
