My long running 5e campaign has had Mot from @hellomcdm.bsky.social in it since like session 10, this little guy is great and the party loves him. He’s got a flame tongue great sword now after training with a party member to use a sword. Activation word is Mot of course, with the correct tone.

I think the worst experiences in all of gaming are the first two hours of most AAA games. That's what the money people obsess over, making things worse and worse.
They can't code, so they don't touch the codebase, but they speak English, so they fuck with the writing.

As a writer also in a field with a very high exec/top brass presence in the creative process, I can guarantee you that in 99% of cases, if the writing feels like you're repetitively being spoon fed plot and exposition, it's a directive from on high and not what the writer would do if left alone.
Before I made any assumptions, I went and read the Pc Gamer piece that is "ragging" on Veilguard.
Summary: It's not. It speaks of a phenomenon in some games of chewing out information, which Veilguard DOES do, and correctly assigns the responsibility of it to the top brass.

I think a lot about how Aaron Swartz committed suicide while facing a probably long jail sentence for download some of JSTOR, but no one at Meta is going to face any repercussions for using all of Libgen to train its AI.
