I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

WICKED: FOR GOOD has the same structural problems that Act II has always had, but Erivo and Grande-Butera are so committed to Gelphie that I truly don’t care.

I will always be a musical theatre belt-singer who cries during “For Good.” 🤷🏻‍♀️

I adored #InYourDreams and desperately need more filmmakers to be brave enough not to talk down to the children who will be watching their films.

It’s #TransgenderAwarenessWeek! Did you know that it’s so unlikely for a podcast host to be trans that statistics on it are inconclusive? And its even LESS likely if the show isn’t explicitly ABOUT transness?

At This Ends at Prom we got @harmonycolangelo.bsky.social, a girl who can do both.

“Why aren’t you going to X film festival?”

“I don’t travel to states where my wife can’t use public bathrooms.”

“But…”

“But WHAT??”
I have started responding to any complaints with “I have to google whether I can use the bathroom in a state before I travel, but sure that sounds hard too” when I’m annoyed.

Freelancers should be tax exempt.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

I joke that I "haven't seen my feet since 6th grade" all the time but legitimately every aspect of my coming-of-age experience was shaped by how terribly I was treated because adult men viewed me, a pre-teen, as a sexual object.
The great defining bond of having experienced girlhood is turning 11 and being actively punished by the entire adult world because a bunch of weird men want to fuck you
Theres actually an important convo to be had re: the difference between 5 & 15yo victims of predation, how society treats them, etc. but the ppl most eager to have that talk tend to be interested in the concept of “acceptability” & excusing predation rather than preventing it or helping anyone

so glad the child sexual abuse panic was squarely pointed at folks like me by the people actually doing it & the public was like “yeah, seems right—freaks did it. not the men with all the money & fighting to keep child marriage legal, the women that are legal to kill in 30 states if you’re nervous.”
What a great day for finding out that a lot of things people thought were conspiracies are actually backed up by emails that are like hey pedo, let us pedo together in pedoland on the second day of the pedo month

The floodgates have been opened. After five years of new episodes EVERY week, we've finally tackled a Lifetime Original Movie on the podcast. May god have mercy on you all, because this train is not stopping anytime soon.
NEW EP: THE PREGNANCY PACT

A ripped-from-the-headlines Lifetime drama that has us wondering why so many people are obsessed with stories about teen girls behaving "badly," and asking where the line is between entertainment and exploitation.

There are about a million things wrong with entertainment journalism these days, but one of my biggest sticking points is that I would give anything to dedicate time to hyping up hidden gems and independent productions, but no one (who will also pay) is willing to platform pieces about them.
