Good evening, Transit Riders!

With the election over, I thought I'd release this video I made and (thankfully) never had to post!

Concise explanation, concrete CTA, very minimal editing, under 2hrs from thought to finished product.

Equipment: DJI mic set, small tripod, Macbook

"If we put just a fraction of the money we put toward highway maintenance every single year, agencies can then make a much better service that has more trains, more buses, making sure that people aren't waiting as long,” Fitzgerald said.

McGovern: Seriously, we were worried. We actually started handing out missing person posters. Nobody has seen you for eight weeks. But, hey, I'm glad that you are ok. I'm glad you survived your nice, two-month paid vacation

Protecting Montreal from profiteers:

“Montreal’s wealth should be determined not by the number of luxury condos available to the global elite as investment properties, but by how many artists and students can afford decent housing.”

Protecting Montreal from profiteers
Candidates in the Nov. 2 municipal election need to recognize that Montrealers are losing a war to profiteers selling the Montreal lifestyle.

More truck-free cargo trailer action! This was a 30-mile bike ride to pick up a bedroom set from a Craigslist ad. Once you live a car-lite or car-free lifestyle, you can't unsee the waste and inefficiency of personal car ownership. #CargoBikes #CarsRuinCities #FossilFuel #CleanAir #CarsStink

After Trump threatened Canada with a military takeover, Canada cancelled its order for 88 F-35 fighter jets worth $27,700,000,000.00 and is ordering 88 fighter jets from Saab in Sweden.
How many jobs will that cost us?
Is this making our country better?

Finally some good news, a country actually going to help.

If Israel does anything to the Spanish ship the EU is involved.

The EU was set up to create a coalition of countries working towards peace. With the backing of each other if anyone gets attacked.
Wow.

This is absolutely huge.

After the attacks, Spain is offering direct military protection to the flotilla bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza.

So what now, Israel?

Are you going to risk acts of war against a European nation so you can attack humanitarian vessels?

The tell here is defining street capacity as a how many vehicles they can fit instead of the number of *people* they can move. Cars are the least efficient way to move people.

With 29% of all trips made by bike and 64% of bike trips made by women, Osaka is a cycling city beyond compare. What makes it even more remarkable is these gains were made in spite of very little dedicated infrastructure. So what can we learn from a place that didn't build it, and they came anyway?🧵

FINALLY a politician debunking the household budget analogy AND making the obvious but never talked about point that investment in the NHS pays itself back many times over due to a healthier working population.

More of this please @zackpolanski.bsky.social it's SUCH a breath of fresh air.
🟢 New leader of the Green Party @zackpolanski.bsky.social on how to grow the economy.

"We need to destroy this really bad metaphor that the household budget is anything like a national economy."

Blasting through a stop arm could kill a kid. A proper fine would be 10x that on the 1st offense.
Motorists passing Detroit Public Schools Community District school buses when stopped with red lights flashing and a stop sign is displayed could get $295 fine using new stop-arm cameras. 40% of ticket revenue will go towards District-wide transportation safety initiatives.
Detroit schools install bus stop-arm cameras, will charge bus stop traffic violators $295
The roughly 300 school buses transporting 13,000 Detroit students will be equipped with cameras to catch those who attempt to go around stopped buses.

If your downtown still has many wide and fast one-way streets, then your priority is to move cars as fast as possible thru a weak downtown. It’s NOT to create a vibrant downtown, help downtown retailers, keep people safe, support walkability and accessibility, reduce pollution, etc. #TrafficSewers
