An artist was deeded a decommissioned Stonewall Jackson statue from Charlottesville, took it apart, and reconstituted it as art. On display in Los Angeles.

Thousands of articles, podcasts, and "think pieces" where liberals dismiss "defund" as unpopular, and yet the policy demand to reduce the size of police, prosecutor, and prison budgets is one of the most popular, consistently polled issues in the U.S: equalityalec.substack.com/p/convention...

A little more on this:
The union issue is with the IATSE crew, but the film has a SAG/AFTRA contract for actors.
Didn't stop them from advertising for non-union actors last year. (Possible the ad was from before the contract was locked in, but SAG actors had joined the film prior to the date shown)

Confirmed: House Democratic leaders have decided to use a stock trading ban bill as a campaign issue rather than actually pass something that had the GOP support to advance.
Jeffries' team is actively discouraging participation in the bipartisan bill and warning outside groups too.

A bipartisan solution was gaining momentum, but the House Democratic leader just issued his own bill that will prevent consensus.

"Every single conversation happening in the political consultant and campaign class among Democratic Party figures is proceeding from a set of “conventional wisdom” assumptions that are wrong about what people want and that fly in the face of a scientific consensus."
THREAD. Has anyone ever told you that we can't reduce the size and power of the police, prosecutor, surveillance tech, and prison bureaucracies because it's not popular? In my latest newsletter, I debunk that myth. equalityalec.substack.com/p/convention...

Trump claims there is “legitimate large-scale peace in the Middle East.” He cites the hundreds of billions in investment from Gulf countries as evidence.

400 Palestinians have been murdered in daily Israeli bombings in Gaza since Israel and Hamas agreed to the 1st phase of Trump’s peace plan...

there's just something so bleak about the fact that the seemingly apolitical murder of two elderly people by their profoundly ill son becomes a political football before the bodies are even cold

It's going to be interesting in 2027 when (IMO) Schumer will have Senators in his caucus whose careers didn't depend on his endorsement. In fact, "I am not endorsed by Chuck Schumer" is likely to be a campaign line in ads next year
