Hotel pillows are so thick that I can’t sleep on them. Called the Fontainebleau front desk to ask for thinner ones and it’s like they’ve never heard that request before. They didn’t use to all be like this. Am I the only one?

I imagine that tennis players feel about pickleball players the way skiers felt about snowboarders in the 90s. I don’t really do any of those activities but I can imagine.

One thing I think people talking about the threat of authoritarian creep have gotten, if not exactly wrong, not quite right either is to frame discussion in terms of various European precedents.
Those are relevant to be sure, but we also have an American precedent - namely the South before 1965.
