Your friendly neighbourhood book-reviewing ex-microinfluencer who hasn't reviewed a book since 2022.
Spent yesterday cooking up a load of turkey broth and bacon. Somehow, the apartment this morning smells like curry and sausages.

More generosity today! Our upstairs neighbours came to give us a wreath, just like they did last year! It smells lovely!

Partner's coworker gave us a few turkey carcasses she had in her freezer from over Thanksgiving, so today I took apart 1 of them to boil up for soup. Still plenty of meat left on the bones, & the carcass itself barely fit into the stock pot, & that still leaves an even bigger carcass in our freezer!

All right, crafty folks.
I need everyone who sees this to keep a look out for the following shawls. They were lost by FedEx on the way to Barcelona Knits, and have been declared "unrecoverable".
🧶
This is thoussands of euros of work & materials, not to mention their value at Trunk Shows & Workshops.

I'm sorry, it's how fucking cold this morning?!

(That's 1 and feels like -20 F, for my American friends.)

After remembering all the lyrics, I gave an impromptu mini-concert to my empty apartment. Felt nice to exercise my soprano voice again.
I often think about how, in elementary school choir, I was told that Skye Boat Song was about Jesus.

I don't blame the teacher. She probably didn't know any better than the rest of us. But still!

in some languages, they don't say "I love you", they say "I made sure Future You would have a potato", and I think that's beautiful

Hey! If you’ve ever liked my voice, now, before the end of the year, would be a really good time to hire me for any SAG-approved projects!

Asking as someone who loves VO, and also really loves having halfway decent health insurance

girl guides uk have been forced very much against their will to exclude trans girls. full statement is here: www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-...

Like, I'm sorry the fascists are giving you difficult choices. But that's what fascists fucking do. The only legit answer is "fuck you make me". The only answer that shows you have actual fucking principles not preferences is "fuck you make me". And that sucks. But here we are.

My bank service fees have gone up from $6.95 a month to $16.95 a month. That's a big damn jump, and given that I have very little income (read: my mother helps, and I rely on my partner for everything), this might be time to boot CIBC to the curb and go find another bank. Not putting up with this!

書きます (kakimasu) means "to write" in Japanese.

That first character reminds me of a desktop PC that's silently judging me for not writing anything.

Remember, writers, that the Japanese language is also rooting for you to keep writing too!

Partner got home from the hospital last night, thankfully didn't have to be in the ER overnight or anything. Diagnosis: probably a really bad pulled muscle.

Thankfully it wasn't anything more serious!

My partner is at the hospital for really bad sudden back pain, and I somehow completely missed my doctor's appointment last week because I though I'd scheduled it for this week.

Fuck fuckedy fuck

This is very good. Clear, calm, factual, and devastating for proponents of bans on puberty blockers for trans youth.
